It Takes a Village TGIF Edition 2-17-17

Good morning from deep in the Forest where the Meese are hiding in shame of what governance has become in our still great country. We come out of hiding to voice our displeasure at opportune moments such as this protest which my SO and I are planning to attend in whichever city we are in that day.

The investigation into tRump and his obvious collusion with Russia seems to be hitting a snag as our Rethuglican led Congress would rather follow tRump’s lead on investigating the leaks to the media instead of the treasonous acts perpetuated by the Liar-in-Chief. A leading voice in this bullshit is none other than the Dishonorable Jason Chaffetz…It’s OK to spend $7 million on 32 investigations into Hillary’s involvement with Benghazi but it seems it’s not worth his or his moronic Rethug party members time to investigate potential and to most obvious treason….It’s becoming obvious that the Republican theory of governing is to protect and serve themselves and their party at all costs and leave the citizens to blow in the wind.

Nice to see constituents voice their opinion on a Cons utter lack of governing and playing footsie with tRump…

So, as we move forward under the utter stupidity of tRump amid the threats and innuendo and while the fabricated Russian threat by tRump which should not be believed, we have the people we elected sitting on their hands. From the beginning tRump has sang Putin’s name to the heavens like he is the greatest thing walking. He had the Republican Party change their plank at the parties convention to accommodate Russia. He’s talked about lifting sanctions against Russia approved by President Obama and a host of other countries becasue of Russia’s military intervention in Crimea. We know now that tRump and his administration have colluded with Russia with the obvious dismissal/resignation of Gen.Flynn being the strongest indicator. We have come to find out that the collusion was going on before the election. We can surmise that Putin needed tRump elected so he can further his agenda of domination in Eastern Europe. This all leads one to wonder just how far tRump is beholden to Putin. There is no one else wanting to play footsies with Putin that holds an elected office, at least that did before the Liar-in-Chief was sworn in. Now that things are looking like just maybe the shadow of impeachment is covering tRump we have Putin putting spy ships within 30 miles of our eastern coast and another spy ship cavorting in the Baltic Sea near one of our U.S.navy ships. Putin has also given indications that he is moving tactical cruise missiles within Russia which breaks a treaty agreed on in 1987.

This can all be looked at 2 different ways. Russian aggression or a bluff on Putin’s part to coincide with the video from tRump coming up. The video plays off of what Putin is doing so everyone here wonders if we are all going to die next week from a Nuclear Holocaust to which I call bullshit on. In my opinion it’s a bluff by Putin and tRump to keep tRump as President by bluffing a war and taking everyone’s eyes off tRumps treason. It’s a win-win for the purveyors of evil.

WE MUST RESIST!!!!!

#JustTweets…

Most moronic con artist piece of bullshit I’ve ever seen…I tried and started to puke…Half the questions you can’t answer without the answers being played either way. Only in Dumpland could something this stupid come out…Smells to high heaven just like Steve Bannon, who probably put it together.

I believe I just entered an alternate universe…Notice the news station this comes from…I’m shocked I tell ya!!!!

As always my reason for being here…Our champion and REAL PRESIDENT!

This is your open thread…Have a great weekend!

  1. Thanks for the great diary batch!

    I read excerpts from the press conference. WTF?

    I hope if the IAs are going to disclose dirt on tRump and team that they do so promptly and for effect.

    • Morning Ink…Yeah,,,WTF is right…The liar-in-chief shouldn’t do stand alone press conferences…He ends up showing his ass one to many times and comes off as deranged.

      • What I don’t understand is that his supporters loved the press conference, and thought he did great. So, he doesn’t have to be coherent, logical, truthful, not a racist, decent human for them.

        I think deep-down their approval of him is all built on a racist foundation.

  2. 38 degrees in chicago metro going up to 60 degrees….. in february…. I’ll take it.

    Morning all!

    • “Only” going up to 41 today north of Detroit, with highs in the 50s through the weekend. I’ll take it to, although it means I’ll be in the backyard, scooping up the dogs’ business that I’ve missed or ignored due to cold weather and not being home. I’m not sure what it says about my life these days that I’m excited to spend a full weekend at home, even knowing that poop-scooping is on my agenda.

  3. Morning, everyone. It’s raining here, and I’m getting ready for work. Sorry I haven’t been around much lately.

    • {{{basket}}} – always glad to see you, even if only for a minute. I’m not around much either, more’s the pity. moar {{{HUGS}}}

  4. {{{Batch}}} – thanks for the roundup. The Deplorables love pvl45. He’s the personification of all their Hate and Insanity. The more he threatens anybody not them, the more they love him. They don’t care if it’s treason – real, literal, by Constitutional definition treason – as long as it’s aimed at taking out anybody not Deplorable, they love and will support it. And the Rs in Congress know it. The Rs in Congress who are in gerrymandered districts only hope for getting re-elected is to support pvl45. Which is why the state legislatures made up of Deplorables are trying to gerrymander more districts.

    At some point, and I am hoping sooner rather than later, the Dems are going to have to shove the Alt Left out of the way and come together to stop them. We outnumber them. At times we even outvote them but the gerrymandered districting gives them the win anyway. We will have to not just outvote them but overwhelm them. We are looking at a political version of the Normandy invasion – specifically Omaha Beach. Politically speaking we will have to throw so many bodies at them (run Dems in every slot in every election for several cycles) that our larger numbers overwhelm them, we break through, and get off the beach where we’re sitting ducks. And just like the Normandy invasion required all military branches of all the Allies to work together, this will require national, state, and local Dem committees to work together – find, field, and fund candidates for every opening. We can do this. We will do this. The questions is when?

    Gots to get to work. Back when I can. {{{Village Peeps}}}

    • {{{bifitz}}} I’ve been appreciating and heartened your WW2 analogies. A sleeping giant has been awoken – and it’s embodies everything good and decent in our country.

      • {{{inkaudlay}}} – WW2 analogies not only cover so many of the events and feelings we are dealing with, they also remind us of what it took and how long it took to recover from, push back, and ultimately defeat fascism. And tell us that, yes we can do this. Has been done, can be done, will be done. Absolutely the sleeping giant embodies everything good and decent in America. The giant unfortunately sleeps through a lot of not very nice stuff as long as it’s quiet enough. This election the Deplorables got loud enough to wake the Giant.

        • I’ve noticed the similarities on the other side of the Alliance, which is why I’ve been so frustrated by people who are continuing to lie to themselves that the Deporables voted on ‘economic anxiety’…I can see the Alt-left bleating that as the cattle cars pull up.

          I don’t think you can watch the doc and not see the parallels:

          “he was passionate and angry and the crowd responded”

          ”a mass rally, said Hitler, is designed to switch off the thinking process, only then will the people be ready to accept the magical simplifications against which all resistance crumbles”

          Hitler didn’t come to power by erected a death camp in downtown Berlin, and then asking people to vote for him. He came to power by using demagoguery to play on the economic anxiety of post-WWI Germans, their tattered pride and shame. He then gave them someone to blame aside from themselves for the situation, the Jews and other ‘undesirables’. He energized them by attacking the ‘other’ then seduced them with the majesty and pageantry of militarism.

    • Here in MI, I know the message of fielding candidates everywhere is getting through. We have a brand new congressman in my CD, and there is already someone who is openly exploring running against him in ’18. This guy is even coordinating a counter-townhall, since our new R rep is avoiding us and only plans to hold a tele-townhall. My district is most of Macomb County and counties north (i.e. pretty darn red), so the fact that we already have someone interested is encouraging. Yes, this guy is likely a Bernie acolyte, but I’ve heard him speak quite movingly about his foreign and refugee students at Wayne State, so he’s not “all economics, all the time.”

      • {{{DoReMI}}} – I’ve never had a problem with the ones Bernie inspired to actually get involved with politics. As in learn the rules, follow the rules, and try to make a difference. It’s the “blow everything up no matter who gets hurt and start over” group who demand the rules be changed in their favor and dismiss everyone with any experience at getting anything done as Evil Oligarchs of the Establishment that need to be shepherded into the Enterprise holodeck so they can play out their fantasies without hurting anyone – and not get in our way.

        • I’ve found I’m so jaded and bitter about both the primaries and DK debacle that my first impulse is distrust and suspicion. I will move past that eventually, and listening to a well-spoken candidate who articulates issues that are important to me gets me one step closer.

          • I know. Same here. But anyone who is courteous, trying to find out what the rules are, and trying to follow is “fresh blood” for the party and not somebody trying to bern it down.

    • If I hear one more Alt-Lefter talk about how we better not call them Deplorable, cause it hurts their wittle feelings, and that’s why Hillary lost the election and we need to do away with ‘identity politics’ I might scream. Don’t turn your backs on them cause they stabbed the sane left once already and they’re eager to do it again.

      • Identity politics = civil rights, pure and simple. It’s a re-framing from the Right and those noobs bought right into it. -_-;

        • They bought into so much right wing bs. Seriously, they’re acting like the bully HS jock’s younger brother, believing everything they say, desperate to impress, attacking those he doesn’t like to make him like them. Maybe they should show some backbone and gumption and stick up for the left for once?

  5. 51 and raining in Sacramento. Thanks for the post, Batch. I wish I could say this is a nightmare and I’ll wake up tomorrow to HRC in the White House. Unfortunately, not so. I hope Jason “who shouldn’t be in the house” goes down hard in 2018. Can’t string two sentences together until I get more coffee. Back soon.

  6. http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/state-dept-carries-out-layoffs-under-rex-tillerson/ar-AAn2j2u?li=BBnb7Kz

    We really need to be building up think tanks to match what the right has. As long as the executive is out of our hands and in the hands of the crazies, there’s going to be a huge brain drain in government. If these people can find jobs in their areas of expertise, when we regain the exec, we’ll still have people to draw back into service.

    I didn’t have high hopes for Tillerson, but the one hope I had was that he would know what he doesn’t know and retain our foreign service experts. That bubble has been burst; it appears he’s following the corporate model of getting rid of the old hands and bringing his own team. How he thinks he can find similar expertise in the private sector will be an ongoing question, and something to watch.

  7. Hi Meeses and thanks Batch…only 35 here in N. UT but it’s above freezing and the sun is shining…I’ll take it…Wow saw that clip of Shep on Faux ripping into the Orange one…got a lot of blow back though so I hope he keeps at it…

  8. I had a rare moment of agreement with my RWNJ brother-in-law yesterday when I posted on FB a brief article with photos documenting “before the EPA.” He’s a self-described fiscal and social conservative (my description is more accurate!), but as a hunter and fisherman, he does care about the environment. I’m not sure he cares enough to buck the party line, but I will be looking for opportunities to remind him to call his senators/congressman when the environment and/or EPA are under attack.

    This isn’t the article I put on FB, but this one from HuffPo has more pictures:

    • Ducks Unlimited and Trout Unlimited are our allies in this fight. They won’t be, of course, on any other topic, but this fight we will fight on the same side.

  9. That national guard story….. a bunch of red meat for his base pre rally tomorrow. It’s a go fetch story.

    • {{{rto}}} – pvl45 is the Man Who Would Be Emperor. Thank Ceiling Cat we have a Constitution written by people who had a healthy fear of despots. There’s a lot of damage the R administration can – and will – do, but he’s still only 1/3 of a 3-part government.

    • Based on the states he outlined I don’t think he will get cooperation from some. It is a bait and switch story and I don’t think he can legally just call of the Guard to play Gestapo role.

  10. Thanks for the spirited post, Batch! I wish I could join the general strike, but as a self emplyed and generally skating the edge of the poverty line person, I probably won’t be able to. I can’t see VonsterTX being able to either, even though her office would freakin collapse if she and the other women who handle the daily mechanics of running things (without the titles and salary to match) were to be absent for the day all together.

    I guess I’ll just have to support in solidarity every other way I can.

    I’ve got some things on my mind I’m hesitant to bring up, but knowing me, I probably will anyway. I never could, as the Vonster might say, “keep cold water on my stomach”. For now, work is calling.

    Love to all Meeses and Villagers everywhere! ♥♥♥♥♥

      • Can the Village survive when it’s split into 3 locations?

        I know you in particular are doing everything you can to keep things viable, and you provided the first alternative safe spot for it to continue by bringing many of us here, but there are a lot of people at DK who don’t know the “inside scoop” and some who never will, they weren’t in the group or looking at group mail at the time things started to go down. Then Chris created his site, and while the more places the merrier and all that, there are folks going over there and not coming here, and for those trying to keep up with both, or all three, it dissipates the energy. I don’t think it’s sustainable, though I will personally try to do whatever I can.

        I’m happiest lurking, and posting the occasional cat meme or tweet or funny video, but my brain is trying to figure out a way not to lose this Village, entirely selfishly and entirely for my own benefit. I also feel some concern for those I see posting almost every day to the DK threads of how they miss what we were and don’t understand what is happening. This is no reflection on you, bfitz, you are amazing, or on anyone else, and know more than a handful of folks who I see checking in at all 3 places.

        It’s starting to bubble to the surface of my brain as a real discomfort with trying to fly under the radar on DK. As current events with Der Führer have progressed literally on a daily and sometimes hourly basis, there seems to be some pushback against the complete rejection of HRC and some vindication of what she was up against in the election, and perhaps some belated consciousness that the PTB at DK have acted against us not unlike the Trumpers against women & minorities.

        Long story short, I’m fighting the urge to stand up over at DK and call it out in public.

        I’ve been around long enough to have a decent idea how successfully that would probably go, but I also have a strong belief in the exposure of truth to the light. It’s so easy for bullies to intimidate people of good intent into hiding or lowering their voices. Yet everything that is happening now in the larger political world suggests that the time for hiding and bending to any form of tyranny is not now.

        …Talk me down? ^_^;;

        • MomentaryGrace, I don’t have an answer for you – I know for myself that trying to keep up with DK and the wonderful Moose Pond left me frazzled. So, I decided to cast my lot entirely with the Meese herd. A number of The Village have migrated here and have brought the bond we shared on DK with them. DK has gotten very toxic and after 12 years I’m tired of it. I want community without the drama and rox/suks wars. I hope more of The Village find their way here. I think the Meese who welcomed us and The Villagers can create a supportive community together. We’re going to need it!

          • I like it here, and I wouldn’t miss DK really, other than the Village posts and posters. I think Kos has lost his mind frankly, and doesn’t know what to do with himself or his site.

            Some of our liveliest folks are at over on Chris’s site but not here, either because they don’t know about this outpost of the Village or because it’s just too much to try and keep up with more than one site, and they like it better there (which is fine, different strokes for different folks like the song says, I just miss the intermix).

            Going to ponder and percolate on this and the wise words you guys have generously given me to this little blarp of mine. Nothing has to happen in the next five minutes.

            Thank you for giving me your thoughts! ♥♥♥♥♥

        • Lol…talk you down? Not me! I’m a fireball!

          Actually, to attempt the talk down, I’m a super new noobie, so I try and mind my p’s and q’s as best I can in other places. But I have been posting fairly neutral pushbacks on some of the egregious lies and bs, not mentioning any names, or specifically calling out Bernie or his followers, just stats and numbers etc. I think that’s super important, and I’ve been doing some research I may turn into an essay about psychology, social influence, lies and the illusion of truth. It all points to how important it is to not let those irrational feedback loops go unchallenged.

          So maybe keep holding on, but only if that’s what you want. You need to take care of yourself, and use your energy wisely, so you shouldn’t let a sense of obligation burn you out.

          As the civil rights violations add up and the lunacy gets put more and more on full display, people might not be all that interested in hearing brogressives talk about how the election was about ‘economic anxiety’ while Trump is marching stormtroopers, I mean ICE agents and the Deportation National Guard, down the street. The voices which are demanding to do away with ‘identity politics’ will be shown for what they are. And that might once again make space for strong rational voices like yours to be heard and do good works.

          • You are an awesome fireball. :)

            I hope you write that essay, I’d be very very interested to read it. The subject matter is right smack in the middle of my own interest bubble.

            I’m going to hold on for a bit, but I don’t know how long. The effort has a lot of value to me, but I also need to get work done and it’s been hit or miss trying to handle both. I work for myself so I can’t get fired for slacking, but I can lose money if I don’t accomplish what I need to in a timely fashion.

            I’m seeing somewhat of a turn in public opinion, and this is even with the very tiny slit I look through on twitter and the net. Whether it will cause enough pushback on DK to make things less toxic and more usable for us, I can’t guess. I know some have already cut the cord.

            Thank you for your thoughts! It helps. ♥♥♥♥♥

        • Dont make my fight your fight. Vutb on dk is essentially done… it is what it is. I encourage folks to stay where they are comfortable.

          I joined twitter going into the dnc last year as an insurance policy as i knew i was going to go out the way i did. Funny, green party and sanders diehards realize now they f…. up bad and progressivism is in real doubt going forward. That Sarandon diary will hold up well, i take TREMENDOUS pride doing it and choosing that hill to die on.

          Stay at dk, it’s a bigger space outside vutb and you can still interact with folks like myself via twitter message, here, or at sob.com

          Keep your head up!

          Harris/castro 2020

          • Thanks reese, I appreciate your encouragement. I wish things had gone otherwise but there is still a good group on DK struggling to keep community happening, and I haven’t reached the point yet where I can walk away – I thought I had for a brief time, but there are still good folks participating in our shrunken space there. What can I say, I was raised to enable.

            I love following you on twitter and reading your posts and comments here and on sob, and will keep enjoying that. As far as DK, without the Village, there’s not enough to keep me there now, on a more than occasional visit basis, but I won’t dive off the back of the Titanic just yet. I can still hear the band playing… ;)

            Head up, eyes wide open, my brother.

          • {{{rto}}} – VUTB is done at DK. Whether the much reduced Village can hang on for a bit longer, well, we shall see. Since I’m at DK for my community needs stuff anyway, I’ll make sure there’s a hangout every morning, but i don’t have the skillset to put together a real Village diary like you do. It’s not just your fight – it’s all of our fight. Only strong together, remember. And that’s the point. They broke us up because we were too strong. We have reason and facts as to why the left of center Dems are the way back to power – they have temper tantrums and insults. They had to take us down to be able to take over DK. And they have to take down cen-Dems in the party to be able to take over that. That’s their real ‘revolution’ – taking over the Dem party. (Which has something in common with pulling the pilots out of the cockpit in a commercial airliner because it’s scheduled to land at DFW and they want to go to LAX – and will have the same kind of outcome.)

            You are a very important member of The Village. Your research and knowledge are if not essential much needed to help us do what needs to be done to get Congress back when it is possible to do so. Same with Batch. And why I wish Chris and SBG were here because theirs, too. Only strong together. All of our knowledge and skillsets contributing. So the Village has to be where you can be. And we’ll just keep trying to get more of our Village back together. moar {{{HUGS}}}

        • i am very worried about splitting our group up into 3 sites because there really has to be a “critical mass” of contributors to keep any group going. I know there are people who will not leave DK for one reason or another. I’m pretty sure SJohnson is one of them. She’s the one who asked me to change the name in the hopes of getting Admin off our backs if not placating the berners who had such fits about us being VUTB. i reworded our purpose for the same reason. And that’s a real shame because having her to the Evening Edition here would firm up the Village at the Moose Pond. i saw an old tree today had a problem sometime back with either MM or WordPress, I’m not sure which, loading a trojan onto her work computer and so says she won’t chance it. Not sure about others.

          I love Chris and i wish he’d come over with us instead of starting his own. Unless he changes the name of his place though I’m not seeing that one last. “shutupbernie” really is too focused on the junior senator from vermont even if only in the name. But right now with the berners still trashing the party and trying to take it over he’s got a point and a following. I think, if we can hang on here long enough though more people will end up here. Sure we’re pissed off at the berners and Bernie, but we’ve got a lot more important stuff to think about, plan for, and do than vent about them (at least more than occasionally). And we can think, plan, talk, and do better here than either other place.

          You know the likelihood of being banned if you do call DK out in public. (You’d be in good company if you want to chance it and that happened.) If instead of doing a diary on the backstory you put it in a long comment to someone (or under the Community Lynx) in one of the diaries you might be able to get The Word out and fly under the radar enough to not get banned. I don’t know if that’s a good idea or not. I do know we are indeed only strong together and we need to come back together somewhere to get our strength back. Obviously that somewhere isn’t going to be DK since some of our best writers and commenters have either been banned or have taken off voluntarily so they don’t have to continually watch their backs. When you consider that Batch was banned pretty much for putting Hillary’s picture at the end of all of his diaries – Hillary’s picture on a supposed Dem site was considered so “divisive” that they banned him without warning.

          So i think you are right to be concerned and right that The Word needs to be gotten out to the Village folks at DK who don’t know what happened because they either didn’t know about group emails and so never checked or don’t have permissions to read them (group admins and editors can read them, group contributors can’t). I’m just not sure how to do it without getting somebody banned. I don’t know if that comes under the heading of talking you down – probably not – so discuss it with other folks and see if there’s a consensus about how to do it. and moar {{{HUGS}}}

          • I wonder when people are going to start realizing how bizarre their Hillary Hatred is? She was the first female nominee of a major party ticket and won 3m more votes while losing to a nominee who colluded with another nation and whose presidency is not going to end well. She’s going to go down in history with the greats. Batch damn well should be tooting her horn, loud and fucking clear. And these anti-feminist assholes need to fuck right off.

          • {{{CBD}}} – they won’t. Extreme Left or Extreme Right – they’re mirror images of each other and the one thing neither of them can stand is a woman or person of color who is the most competent, most qualified, most efficient anything. They will make up crap until they stop breathing but they will never, ever, admit that a woman or person of color was superior to them in any way.

          • Many will never acknowledge it. We give them the excuse that they must have been tainted by the GOP’s 40 year smear campaign but for some, it’s women-hate, pure and simple – hate for a specific kind of woman – smart, non-subservient, not focused on her looks but rather on what she wants to accomplish in the world, not interested in backing down. Some nurture their hate because she didn’t kick Bill to the curb. Those folks will never change their minds.

            I am heartened daily, however, by how much support she has on Twitter, of all things! We, her hardcore supporters, or at least some of us were a bit quiet during the primaries and even the election, because of reluctance to draw that hate on ourselves, but time and history will vindicate us. It seems like it already is starting to.

          • It’s true — there is a lot of Hillary support on Twitter! I’ve been enjoying that.

            I have always been an intermittent commenter (and not a diarist) because I just sometimes find it too hard to comment. Kind of ironic for a writer but hey, I’m a slow writer too. With the Village in three places, I expect my commenting will be even more erratic but I’m going to try and keep up with the community as best I can.

            I will never understand why Dkos did what it did when it came to our community. It was cruel as well as stupid.

          • {{{{{{{{{{{{{bfitz}}}}}}}}}}}}}

            Thank you for nudging me to get that out! As you can see, it didn’t take a lot of nudging! :D

            Chris’s site is sickofbernie.com, btw, not shutupbernie. He says he got the domain a little while ago with no real plans to use it for anything, and when rto and Batch were banned, he just decided to start a place of his own and already had the domain. For now, even the name is appealing to folks who are hurt and angry about the situation on DK and in the world at large. I know reese, Batch and Chris all show up here, as well as quite a few others, but I haven’t seen StarbucksGirl here, or if I have, I’ve blanked on it. I wish we could draw her and any others who have left DK into at least stopping by here, but yeah, don’t blame anyone for needing to simplify their lives right now.

            My head understands the risk of being banned if I lay it all out in DK, but we’ve been trying to fly under the radar and we’re missing people and losing people. I’m responsible for some of that, because folks were asking about SBG (as you know) and since she is on sob.com, I pm-ed the address to everyone who asked for it. If I could have said she was here…

            I guess it will all hinge on whether the PTB on DK have the capability to see their own mistakes and correct for them. They don’t even have to do it in public, just refrain and let us stretch and breath there. It may not happen/be possible. If so, so be it.

            i saw an old tree today dropped a comment, “I think much of the community and many of the admins actually support this group” – I’m not sure from whence this idea came but if true, jumping ship too early feels like ‘letting the bad guys win’ without much of a fight.

            Maybe I’ll be the (next) canary in the mineshaft. Not sure yet. I have till Wednesday to think about it though. ;)

            Definitely looking for any and all input on this, and just as definitely prepared to make my own choice when the time is nigh.

            So much love for you, bfitz. So much. I hope I won’t embarrass you when I say you feel to me like the older sister I wish I had. I have an older sister but through circumstances far too lengthy and tangled to express, we’re a bit estranged. You give me a lot of life. ♥♥♥♥♥

          • Moar {{{HUGS}}} to you – I saw her comment, I’m not sure I believe it. At least not as far as the Village itself is concerned. I know that for some bizarre reason they like my community needs comments – even as they basically destroyed the one community that was big enough and strong enough to respond to those needs – so that may be the feedback she’s hearing. But I have “another life” at DK – the community needs stuff and the Pootie diaries – so will be there unless somebody decides that I’m a divisive instigator (not likely since as I said they like the community needs stuff). Since I’m there, I also support the Village there. I’ll admit it would be easier on me if they were all over here because doing both is a drain on my time and resources and I’m darned sure not going to leave this Village as long as anybody writes a diary for it. I simply don’t have enough time for sickofbernie (thanks for the correction – not sure where I saw “shutupbernie” and thought it was Chris’) although I really miss Chris and probably would love the site.

            You don’t embarrass me, you honor me. Oddly enough I am an older sister and have a tangled and lengthy set of circumstances has me estranged from my sisters, especially the next one down. I am very glad I give you “a lot of life” – moar {{{HUGS}}}

          • Well that settles it, we shall be internet sisters until we no longer walk the same wide virtual walkway. :)

            All of this is going into my mental soup pot for simmering. Food for thought indeed.

        • I, too, feel bad about those who wonder what is happening to our village at Kos. I post in all three but I’m retired. I don’t want the Village Under the Bus to go away. There are a lot of folks (some new) that look to that space for news and comfort. I will try to be there for them as long as I can.

        • I also hate that we have been fragmented, and that our place at DK is diminishing day by day. I have been a part of that site for many years, and I like to read a variety of diaries. It’s easy to check in with the Village peeps while I’m there. It seems to me that we are the sane dems, the hope for the party’s future. Not the bros or lefty lefts. I live in a red state, that will, in time go purple then blue due to demographics. They will not jump on board with a sanders type vision, but they will join in with the dreaded identity politics of social justice, reproductive rights and voting rights. I do not understand why, when Hillary got more votes than any candidate not named Barak Obama, we need to blow up the party and pander to the non-dems. NO. We are the majority, and we need to make sure that all of our folks get registered and vote in 2018.

          • The majority twice! In the Primary and the GE. It is beyond insane that people are so dogmatically holding to the position that a failed Primary candidate and his divisive followers are the future of anything.

  11. Brother Batch love how cool and calm you approach the flaws and failings of the Vagina Grabber In Chief Regime, outstanding as always.

  12. Well, its 60 degrees in february in chicago, the earth killer just got confirmed… so Jill Stein, still think clinton is worst?

  13. Two things happened buddy…The question flew right over the top of her empty head and she called Putin to get the answer!

  14. Arkansas ceo! I will post both sites, chris and the moose so it’s not an issue.. we’ll mesh… its only been a couple weeks! Keep holding it down at the orange monster. Need any ideas, let Yankeedoodler know and she will hit me on twitter.

    • I’m doing most of this from work so I have to be careful. Just posting the lynx comments takes enough time – partly because I’m checking totals and trying to make sure all the links still work – although if anyone asks I lump it under “dealing with emails” and as long as they can’t see my computer screen I get away with it. LOL. But I do 2 Street Prophets diaries a week and post those 3 community comments in other writers’ Street Prophets, the Pootie diaries, and KTK. If I had more time I’d try to find more communities to post them in. But that really does mean I’m short on time for monitoring diaries – commenting/responding – much less putting together anything else even if I was on twitter. I admire what you are able to bring to comments as well as the diaries.

      Just wish one of you brilliant folks could figure out how we’re going to circumvent the media so we can start winning elections on a regular basis. moar {{{HUGS}}}

  15. Hello all! Liking the new digs! :) I haven’t had much time to post this week, but I’m happy to see the faces here. Thanks for the thread, Batch.

  16. Howdy, all, glad to be here, will come more often! Got flamed on FB – how DARE I post something – not even my words – that chastises those who “voted their conscience.” Got me thinking. Might post a diary here, to see what you all think?

    • Did you ask for writing privileges when you signed up? If not, post a reply to JanF on her next comment (usually every day in the Community Welcomings post) and ask for them. And yes, another post in the Village is always welcome. If you let us know which day, I’m sure it will be no problem to shuffle the schedule.
