Week-long Welcomings from Moosylvania: Apr. 2nd through Apr. 8th

Welcome to The Moose Pond! The Welcomings posts give the Moose, old and new, a place to visit and share words about the weather, life, the world at large and the small parts of Moosylvania that we each inhabit.

Welcomings will be posted at the start of each week (every Sunday morning). To find the posts, just bookmark this link and Voila! (which is Moose for “I found everyone!!”).

The format is simple: each day, the first moose to arrive on-line will post a comment welcoming the new day and complaining (or bragging!) about their weather. Or mentioning an interesting or thought provoking news item. Or simply checking in.

So … what’s going on in your part of Moosylvania?

NOTE: The comments page will now split off after 20 or so left margin comments with the most recent comments on the current page. To see the older comments, scroll to the bottom of the page and use the link.

  1. Good Saturday Meese

    46 degrees here in Saugerties. Woke up at around 2 AM – went back to sleep and overslept.

    Haven’t had much time to read the news yet – peeked at Twitter – didn’t stay long – I think I’m going to take a break from the news today.
    Hugs to all

  2. Slept in, and hit snooze quite a few times. All I have to do today is groceries, clean house & take my bike in for a tune up. Tomorrow will be oatmeal baking day.

  3. Good morning, meeses! Sounds like everyone slept well. I wonder if the fever is breaking a bit. It is becoming obvious – to everyone – the shitstorm that angry voters unleashed on the country and the world. The wargasms from the Republicans is disgusting. But America does not want endless war or wars of choice by low intellect buffoons. Barack Obama energized the young people by being antiwar and the next generation of Democratic Party politicians will ride that.

    No Kicking Ass, I mean Fighting Back, this morning. I am still travelling and only got 2 hours of sleep last night clicking refresh on flight options after my Delta flight was cancelled. Finally got booked at 12:30am, up again at 3! Tomorrow morning I will have time to sip coffee and post.

    See all y’all later!

  4. Good morning, 44 and cloudy in Bellingham, and after yesterday’s wind and rain it seems very quiet. My old maple trees are full of new buds, and the hint of green is very nice to see. I love seeing the seasons change in the branches outside my window.

    Peaceful wishes to all.

  5. Good morning Meeses. It’s in the 50s and cloudy with a chance of rain later. Belle has her one-month checkup at 12 at the vet, as she started taking thyroid meds last month. She is such a sweetheart at home but at the vet is very aggressive. Sending her good thoughts and calming energy (and gabapentin 2 hours before).

    Got my lab results back. Surprisingly my cholesterol is still within the healthy range, but glucose is high. sigh

    • {{{basket}}} – Healing Energy to you and to Belle. And any other kind of Energy you or she need. Now back to making soup. heh. moar {{{HUGS}}}
