Week-long Welcomings from Moosylvania: Aug. 6th through Aug. 12th

Welcome to The Moose Pond! The Welcomings posts give the Moose, old and new, a place to visit and share words about the weather, life, the world at large and the small parts of Moosylvania that we each inhabit.

Welcomings will be posted at the start of each week (every Sunday morning). To find the posts, just bookmark this link and Voila! (which is Moose for “I found everyone!!”).

The format is simple: each day, the first moose to arrive on-line will post a comment welcoming the new day and complaining (or bragging!) about their weather. Or mentioning an interesting or thought provoking news item. Or simply checking in.

So … what’s going on in your part of Moosylvania?

NOTE: The comments page will now split off after 20 or so left margin comments with the most recent comments on the current page. To see the older comments, scroll to the bottom of the page and use the link.

  1. Good morning, 66 breezy and light rain in Bellingham. The air already smells less smokey, yay!

I was enjoying some quiet time in the garden yesterday and then a cracked pipe caused water to bubble out of the ground by the basement wall. The plumber was able to get here asap, the ground was so wet it was easy digging, and fortunately it was fixed before very much water came into the basement. The area will have to dry out before we can replace the pavers but the mud is all cleaned up. We live on a hill and the water pressure is very high so all the plumbing pipes are under stress. The fitting that cracked was new which is frustrating…..plumbing (and politics) require vigilance!

Our grandson is coming tomorrow so we’ll have another busy week. He has been making plans with Emma so I’ll be the on call driver :)
