Morning meese!

Well, I guess we’ll find out come Monday if I will still be around or if my MH blows away which will mean I will be living on the beach. Gonna be an abbreviated missive as I’m not really up to doing much. Been getting bombarded about fucking Irma so much if I never hear the name again I’ll be glad.

Enough of my maudlin crap…Tweet’s is all I got.

Short and to the point thread

Love Verrit…Thanks Peter!

Everyone will love this…Hillary spoke last night at Riverside Church in NYC and Becca took pics and gave commentary…

Didn’t want to break up the Hillary love but saw this…

To hell with some of these damn men…

Yeah bro…We aren’t going anywhere but for the jugular.

Ah man…Fuck you Bernie and same goes for all the 3rd party voters and Trump voters too.

This is your Friday open thread…Fire away!

  1. Morning meese….81 and 89% with 3/mph northerly wind. I expect that to change considerably sometime within the next 24 to 48 hours unfortunately.
Might not be around much as I have to batten the hatches down the best I can.

    TTYL!

  2. {{{Batch}}} – Holding the Good Thought for you and Miss Hillary’s safety. I am glad Hillary is doing what she’s doing. She knows very well what she represents to, for, and about women in our country and the world. She knows she can’t stay throwed because if she does, there are women – not just little girls but grown women – who will be too depressed to get back up themselves. As long as she’s breathing – and after with her books, articles, and interviews – she will work for kids’ health and safety and women’s/all human’s rights. That’s her duty and she will do it. Goddess bless the woman.

Just a note I meant to put in Squirrel last night: Heard from duoserasphim yesterday — after a bunch of housing ups and downs, they got subsidized housing in Cambridge, MA! Not doing blogs much, mostly following DOV on twitter, but they are doing fine with a nice home of their own. ❤️

    i need to get to work. I’ll check back when i can. moar {{{HUGS}}}

  3. Good morning Pond Dwellers and thanks, Batch, for the TGIF thread.i love the Candice thread. If I’m not mistaken, didn’t Romney and McCain both do books on their losing campaigns? I’m too hyped up on cold medicine to research right now.

I hope you’ve got sufficient water and supplies to last you (don’t forget the kitteh kibble and litter). Obviously you’ve been through this before so I’ll just say “Be safe” and charge up your phone in case you lose power.

  4. I’m more scattered than usual today and almost forgot to check in, so good AFTERNOON all. Batch, holding you and Miss Hillary in the Light, and I’ll be checking Squirrel compulsively to look for the word that you’re safe after Irma passes.

Newpioneer is in TN visiting, not PR, but he did say on Twitter last night that he’s gotten word that friends and family are safe. He won’t know until he goes back next week what he’s going to find on the ground, but he was much relieved to hear about the people in his life.

Me, I’m going to have a better weekend than anyone south of the Mason-Dixon line. I’m leaving after work to go to OH to see my daughter; it’s wedding dress fitting weekend and also when she’s going to pick out a veil. I’m ridiculously excited about this. I didn’t wear a veil at my wedding, and I was mostly ambivalent about them until she tried one on when buying the dress. Now, apparently, I have OPINIONS (which I will largely have to keep to myself unless I’m willing to put my money where my mouth is…which might just happen).

And The Kiddo is over the moon because her grandmother and aunt, my husband’s stepmom and [half] sister, are coming to the wedding. It’s been 14 years since my daughter last saw them (longer for me; I always stayed home with the critters when they went to MA to visit), and my daughter was convinced they wouldn’t come. I wasn’t sure myself, so this is terrific news. I’m kind of basking in the glow of her joy at this news.

    • Sounds like a wonderful weekend for you and what cool tips for charging your phone. Of course, if I ever need them I won’t remember where I saw them or how to find them again (because my phone will be dead).

      • Right? It’s really little more than a sixth-grade science experiment, but I managed to screw those up back in the day, so I doubt my ahem current “maturity” would allow me to do any better. Still, the tips have been floating around Twitter for a few days, so it may come in handy for someone.
