TGIF

Morning meese…

Life is a hard as hell at all times but especially what we’ve had to endure the last 18 months and more to the point the last 12. I thought I was going to write some long spiel for this edition of TGIF, about Al Franken, and what this all means in the bigger picture but I just don’t have it in me right now…It all depressing as hell what we have to go through from one day to the next anymore so I’m just gonna put a few tweets up and let things progress as usual.

  1. Hiya, Batch, thanks for the tweetfest! Loved the last two especially.

    Going to spend the rest of the day trying to catch up on the sleep I didn’t get last night.

    There’s been too much bad news this week, both politically and personally.

    Hope you’re OK!

  2. Good morning, Pond Dwellers and thanks, Batch, for another TGIF thread. The rain is stopping for the next three days, so that’s good news. 47 this morning, which isn’t too bad.

    As I alluded to Diana, with all the women’s assault news in the news this week, this would be a nice time for Mueller to open an indictment or three, right? Although, it is good that women are coming forward with all of this. Only by having these conversations can we hope to change the narrative.

    Back to monitor my diary…I’ll check in later.

  3. Morning meese…Welcome to the wacky world where believing anything and everything you read online is the gospel truth, so says CT wackos…

    Looking more and more like Al Franken is no so guilty of what initially came out. It is looking more and more like a political hit piece generated by the right.

    While on another front what the hell was Gillibrand thinking?

    • If I knew what she was thinking AND the winning lottery numbers, I’d be set. She’s making a good case for Caroline Kennedy to primary her. I remember the concern when it came out…bet those folks who said “don’t do it” aren’t saying that now.

  4. {{{Batch}}} – always wonderful to see you in Moose Village even if the comments and replies are a bit slow going. (Faster than snail mail – LOL) Hope the day is going reasonably well for you.

    Franken is guilty of something that even as late as the time he did it (2006) it was wrong but considered standard comedy fare. He knows it was wrong and is apparently ashamed of it now. He is also handling it in the best possible way – both for the error itself and the political hit piece part of it – he’s apologized, expanded on the apology, emphasized that women telling their stories should be believed and not attacked, and called for an ethics investigation of himself. There couldn’t be a clearer difference between Franken on our team and the perverts on their team.

  5. Happy Friday, folks. Nice job, Batch and the awfulness continues but eventually we will have a life without trump. It’s tough to deal with the sheer scope of it, going after elephants. There’s nothing too vile, but we all have to find a way to outlive this evil .

    • {{{kathy from pa}}} – we will. We’ve outlived legal slavery of black folks, legal genocide of Native Americans, legal domestic violence under the heading of “discipline” – we still have severe issues there, but we’ve made progress. A temporary setback is just that – temporary. So we resist, block, push back. And take back Congress so we can start the process of regaining ground and making progress. moar {{{HUGS}}}
