TGIF!

Morning Meese…Not really in the mood to rant as i’m afraid if I started I might not stop.

The school shooting has really got me to the point where I just want to grab a high powered rifle and start shooting Wayne LaPierre and all the asshole Cons that are running cover for the NRA. Have to throw in Dotard and Pence in my arcade game too. They might go first.

Or I just might go after them with a trusty flame thrower…Disregard my fantasies… :)

November can’t get here soon enough.

God bless every one of them…RIP

Whoa…Let em have it Rep. Jeffries…

Nunes is a damn moron…

Fire away!

  1. Good morning, Pond Dwellers. Thanks, Batch for another of your infamous rants. If there is a silver lining to any mass shooting, it is that it was not a POC or Muslim. I’m glad that he is a card carrying member of the WS party. Just another loyal republican.

36 and clear skies in Sacramento with a high of 65 expected. More coffee, please.

  2. {{{Batch}}} Healing Energy to you, too. It is heartbreaking. And we do know the answer. Only 1 mass shooting while the assault weapons ban was in force. 14 since. We know the answer – we just have to get back into power to be able to do the work. I RT’d most of your tweets above. Bless you for writing when I know you are Depressed. Holding you in my heart. moar {{{HUGS}}} and Healing Energy.

  3. {{{Hugs}}} to all, and especially you, Batch…for whatever reason, it’s always harder when the violence is close to home. I have to admit I was feeling more hopelessness than hope yesterday, but while I can’t say I have fully rebounded, I do feel a bit better. Those eloquent, brave kids are doing it for me. Instead of responding like victims, they’re responding like warriors for justice for their classmates and this country. I forced myself to watch some of the videos students took as events were unfolding. I usually avoid that sort of thing, but I felt I owed it to the students; I will never be able to forget the keening of fear, nor the sight of students finally evacuating while leaving bloody footprints in their wake. Yesterday, I felt despair; today I feel the beginnings of an anger that demands change. I know that as the anger fades, it must be replaced with the slow, plodding work of activism, but I’m game. I have to be. Those kids want adults to adult, and I don’t think that’s too much to ask.

    • Morning Sher…I hate guns so when something like this happens and like you said it gets you depressed initially but it gets me pissed real fast at the ineptitude and corruption that we put up with from the Conservatives in Congress and in society as a whole.

      • The Hubby is a former Marine (although he retired from the Navy…there’s a story there) whose original rating was machine gunner, and years ago, he mentioned that he missed handling and shooting a weapon. I told him then and there that he could buy any handgun he wanted, but I would never allow ammunition in the house. I also suggested he could take up skeet shooting; he considered that for awhile but finally decided that he didn’t miss his weapon that much after all. So I kinda, sorta get those who take pride in their shooting skills, but that’s a far cry from those who fetishize guns and view themselves as some sort of hero-in-waiting. And I really don’t get the people who can hear and see the cries of children and yet somehow decide it’s too soon or too politicized or a liberal conspiracy to subvert the 2nd Amendment. They must have checked their humanity and compassion at the door, because I sure as hell don’t see it on display.

        • If they ever had any in the first place – and most of them didn’t – they pitched their humanity and compassion the minute they joined the R party.

  4. Remember, this is just the opening salvo.
