2. Thank you, Batch. There’s lots of emboldened ugliness out there, and while they’re not likely to be shamed, shining the spotlight will help those who haven’t lost their basic decency to sidle away. I don’t embrace an electoral strategy of cozying up to “decent” Republicans, but we may gain some (or at least depress their support for the worst) by continuing to both shine the light and provide a moral contrast.

   Hitting the road for a working weekend at The Kiddo’s. I’m pre-aching at the thought of all the work ahead of me, but it also means I’ll be in a virtual news blackout and with people I love. Sounds like a win-win to me, heavy lifting aside. Love to my Village here and everywhere…

   • You can preach it all you want. It isn’t going to work. So groups will get grant money to promote it doesn’t mean that teenagers are that stupid. Ok, some might be.

     • {{{WYgal}}} – they preach it/teach it because it doesn’t work. Feature not a bug. If you want to keep people, especially women, in a position where they can do nothing but scrabble for survival – will take any job at any wage under any conditions just to stay off the streets – nothing works like unintended pregnancies for which abortion is strongly discouraged if not outlawed.

       • True but this administration won’t last forever. Unfortunately, it will be the lower income teenagers that will be most affected.

         • The Rs will continue to push it at all levels – we’ve got to not only get back the WH and Congress, we’ve got to get back the state and local governments and the School Boards to stop this. And of course, it’s always the lower income kids who are most affected. They’re the most vulnerable so they’ve got the biggest target painted on them. sigh. {{{HUGS}}}

5. {{{Batch}}} – a good roundup of some not good stuff – with a few good things to lighten the load. As Hillary said, we change things not by changing hearts and minds but by changing policy and resource allocation. That works both ways. The current administration has violent, genocidal, racist policies and is allocating resources to that end. We’ve got to get back the power to change those policies before we can do any serious work on this evil.
