TGIF!

Good morning meese!

.Let’s all hope today is better than the last two days. In fact what we want to see and I think is going to happen sooner than later will be some one getting wind of indictments coming down and we will see the Repukes performing the Chinese fire drill.This will happen, and while it will whittle some of the deplorables out of Congress it won’t get them all. So no matter what happens we need to GOTV and vote in November.

I want him back!!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. Hi, Batch, thanks for the post! Wow, is that the real reason Kennedy resigned? So interesting!

    This has been a very bad week. Glad it’s Friday!

    Take care, my friend.

    • You wonder if a pardon deal was cut. “You give up your seat so that I can pump up enthusiasm for the midterms and your son gets a presidential pardon.” Talk about tarnishing your legacy!

      • I hate that Kennedy gained the unearned reputation as a centrist. He was a right wing mediocrity with no core principles which made him eminently persuadable; that’s why he was a deciding vote on so many issues. If all this about his son is proven and shown to be a factor in his retirement (he had hired his clerks for the next terms, so there’s room to believe it), it won’t surprise me in the least.

        It’s downright bizarre that Roberts is now likely to become the closest thing to a swing vote that SCOTUS has, and I think we’ll see arguments tailored to him because of that. There is a bit of a silver lining in that; arguments will need to be much tighter and carefully considered. It doesn’t help in the short term, but I’m going to hold on to the sliver of hope that it helps in the long run.

      • Morning Jan…Pretty abhorrent to find out a Supreme is just as dirty as the Rethuglicans but not really surprising.

  2. Thank you, Batch! The work is piled high on my desk, but I decided to shove it aside in order to show up here before lunch (for a change). And thank you for including the clip of President Obama. I mentioned the other day that one of the things I miss is that with the Colluder-in-Chief in the WH, we’re not going to see PBS music specials or any celebration of the arts. In the grand scheme of things, it seems small, but it’s part of what made the WH the People’s House. I doubt we’ll see anything like it again in my lifetime.

  3. {{{Batch}}} good roundup. Kennedy can care nothing for democracy or his legacy. Otherwise he’d have waited until November to retire. But then, Deplorables don’t. & he is most definitely Deplorable even though he’s more or less (less to those paying attention) hidden it under a paint-thin coat of civility. We most certainly must get out the vote and get Congress back. We will eventually retake government control. This is a given. But how soon is “eventually” is the serious difference in a lot of people living – or not. Keep on keepin’ on. moar {{{HUGS}}}

  4. The more I think about the Kennedy thing, the more I think he was pressured to resign, either with subtlety or with blunt threats. It’s possible that if anything related to the Mueller or the Orange Candyman ended up in front of SCOTUS, the news about Kennedy’s son would have come out and forced him to recuse himself. (The fact that it came out now, rather than later, just shows how easy it was to find the information.) Rather than risk that, the screws were put to Kennedy; with his retirement and its timing, it will be far easier for a loyalist to be appointed. I suspect this has less to do with Kennedy “saving” his son and more to do with him trying to salvage his reputation. I also wouldn’t be surprised if the news breaking about Kennedy’s son’s involvement was aided a bit by folks in this administration. Now, if Kennedy tries to speak up against the Consiglieres and the Godfather in any way, anything he says would be viewed as self-serving and suspect.

    The alternative is that I’ve read way too many mysteries and spy thrillers…!
