It’s 70 and muggy here in Fayetteville, AR going up to mid 80s again. Since there’s rain moving in this evening I doubt the muggy will go away – but I certainly hope it does. We got 23.68 KWHs yesterday bringing the m-t-d to 451 – if the sun shines these last 4 production days we could make a new record for highest generated in May. If the sun doesn’t shine we could unfortunately make a new record for lowest. Probable is somewhere in between. 😁🌞😁
basket is here – not asleep but not exactly up yet. We’re going to drive to Tahlequah to the Cherokee Heritage Center today. I’ve been meaning to for about 20 years but somehow never did. Tomorrow we head for Sedalia. I’ll have my laptop with me so expect to be able to check in. It’s sooooo nice having him here to visit. Emails, blogs, and tweets are nice ways to keep in touch but cannot replace a face-to-face visit!
The new kitties all went into hiding last night. Murf eventually came out for a bit but the Twins didn’t. They were hiding even from me. I’m wondering if the scent he uses is similar to whoever did the TNR with them. They’re always spooked by strangers but Murf and Rennie usually come out and check things out after 10 or 15 minutes. Last night the Twins didn’t even show up to eat. I hope me being gone 5 days doesn’t freak them out too much.
I’ll be even lighter on twitter than usual but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Better for the tummy definitely. When I get back I’ll start doing the data entry for the Dem Party which at least feels like I’ll be doing something to help. But for now I’ve got company and that’s a very good thing. Good morning, Meesefolk; 61 when I got up this morning with a high of 72. It’s not supposed to rain, but the sky is a flat grey, and the sidewalk that was dry when I got up looks wet now. But my widget says 0% chance of rain…go figure.
Rachel had what was essentially a clip show last night, replaying excerpts from some of her interviews with the Dem candidates. I wasn’t going to watch, but then I realized I had missed a number of the interviews and found it interesting. No matter what, we’re really very fortunate to have such gifted, eloquent candidates making the case for our values. On a less generous note, I couldn’t help notice an obvious contrast between our women and men candidates. The women were universally gracious about the others in the field; the men barely acknowledged that there were others, despite how crowded the field is. I know that says more about how women are socialized vs any statement about politics, but it reminded me that it’s just one more reason I want a woman in the White House.

Good morning, 58 and cloudy in Bellingham. I enjoyed being in the garden yesterday and would like to do the same today but my knees need a rest so I’m headed to my desk. It’s a thankless task, but needs to be done.
I’ve been working in the upper garden, the area by the garage and where we park. It’s been a gravel work area but when the big maple tree was removed several years ago it became a more public space so I’ve been planting trees in the ground as well in big containers. It’s starting to look like a working garden space now and a much more inviting back entrance to our home. The ivy covered fence that screens the alley now has layers of plants growing on the garden side and the mix of green colors is visually complex. Some would say it’s overgrown but that’s the way I want it to be :)

Good afternoon, Meese! It’s 1:30 p.m. here in Ashburn. We woke up to dark skies and rain, but right after Early Morning Tea we had to run out to take care of the poor dog in Fairfax. The traffic was horrendous this morning and the accident on our route did not help matters: fortunately, we heard about it on the radio so Dearly Beloved was able to take an alternative route.
Currently it’s 81 F. here, going up to 90 F. It’s going to be hot as hail with a 30 percent chance of rain all week long. Actually, I don’t think I’m going to object, as it’s been so chilly and windy for so long.
By the time we arrived the poor dog had been by himself for 15 and a half hours. He went out for a few minutes, came back in, and hungrily started eating everything in sight. I patted him and told him his family would be back this afternoon.
We then went out to breakfast and picked up Monty. By the time we arrived home the day was half-gone! Lots to do today.
Had a great time at Elder Son’s barbecue last night. Mr. Preschooler, with two sets of grandparents there, was bouncing off the walls! They’re coming to dinner here in the near future.
Summer is officially here, so it’s time to relax. Autumn will bring lots of work because the primaries will be only six months away.
Wishing a good day to all at the Pond. Also kinda wishing I could go out to Bellingham and see princesspat’s garden. It sounds delightful!

It is 54 degrees in Madison with an expected daytime high of 68. Showers are in the forecast. I was watching the tornado warnings in the Kansas City area last night as I have relatives there – apparently there was a monster tornado that shot past the city to the north and caused the airport to send customers into shelters. Holy mackeral!
The Supreme Court declared that the additional cost of funerals for fetal remains is not an unnecessary burden for women seeking to end their pregnancies, Clarence Thomas reminded us that the end game for the religious right is the elimination of birth control as well as abortions, and the last abortion clinic in Missouri will close on Friday because the new rules put in place cannot be reasonably complied with by Planned Parenthood. For the first time in almost 50 years, there will be a state where women cannot get an abortion. This is the future that Susan Collins wanted. :(

Hot, sticky morning. (I can just copy & paste that till October). My back has stiffened back up, sigh. It’s dangerous for me to play mellow music in the morning, but I need the comfort of Ordinary Love. I don’t know why, but this song feels like the softest cashmere sweater around my soul.
Good Woden’s Day morning, Moosekind! It’s a beautiful, very warm morning here in NoVa. The current temp. is 71 F., going up to 91 F. We’re expecting thunderstorms and even a possible tornado between 3 and 8 p.m. today. Yesterday’s alleged bad weather passed right by our area: we’ll see what happens today.
I put up a Kamala diary on dk. Lawks, what a mess I made of it! Sister Dee has already retweeted it, I see, so it must have published earlier than I thought.
Hope to read DoReMI’s Tuesday diary this afternoon. Lunch with a friend is on the agenda also.

It’s 70 (& muggy) heading for 75. The sun’s out at the moment but the rain’s supposed to start around noon. By which time we’ll be somewhere in MO. It was a lot of overcast yesterday but we still managed to generate 12.6 KWHs and the m-t-d is 463.7 – 2 good sunny days will bring us over 500. We may actually get those days but one of them won’t be today.
Yesterday was very enjoyable. Visiting with basket always is. The Cherokee Heritage Center has some very good exhibits including a representation of a 1700s village (in TN – Cherokee weren’t in OK at that time). The Trail of Tears exhibit is also very good if enraging/heartbreaking. It was fascinating how similar the 1870s village was/is to any small rural village of the time period. Except of the Cherokee alphabet on the schoolhouse chalk board. We had a pleasant lunch at a place claiming to be a Mexican restaurant – but let’s just say those tacos weren’t what I grew up with. LOL. Good though.
I need to visit various internet places, get some coffee, then do the dishes so we can hit the road. Bright the day, Meeses. {{{HUGS}}}

Good morning, Meesefolk; 55 when I got up and expected to go up to 70. The rain started just as I was walking out the door this morning and has continued steadily, on a day when my widget says the chance of rain is only 20%. My widget isn’t wrong, but it certainly is a purveyor of false hope.
I had totally forgotten until late last night that I needed to repair or replace my flat from the other day, so I was up and out the door quite early. The first place I stopped told me they were swamped and probably couldn’t get to it until tomorrow. I only stopped there because it was closest to work, but after hearing that, I went to my usual place. They had me in and out within 35 minutes; unfortunately, it was at the cost of a new tire because my old one couldn’t be repaired. I had hoped to avoid the expense, because my plan is to buy a new-to-me car in January, but that was a vain hope. When the time comes, I may see if my [two] newer tires will fit Kiddo or SILs cars and swap with them. Since I don’t expect much, if any, trade-in value on my car (I’m really just hoping they don’t charge ME to take it off my hands), I’d rather they get the tires.
I also totally forgot about Sen. Harris’ townhall last night, and by the time I finally did remember, it was in the final minutes. I’ll have to watch later tonight. In the meantime, Mueller has spoken, and from the hot takes I’ve read on Twitter, it sounds like he was being willfully obtuse w/r/t the reasons people want him to testify. This upright, noble white man persona wasn’t particularly appealing or convincing with Comey, and I’m not inclined to buy into it with Mueller either. And on top of that, reading the report is all well and good, but has anyone outside of the Barr-barian been able to see the whole, unredacted, damn thing? Because if not, that’s one more reason why his testimony is necessary.

This, related to your current car: “I’m really just hoping they don’t charge ME to take it off my hands.” I have one of those kind of cars also – do they do that, charge you to haul it away? I never thought of that!
I saw some of the hot takes and some of the cooled-down takes on the Mueller statement were coming in by the time I was able to look at the news. I thought he took a couple of veiled swipes at Barr. That he made a public point about retiring from the Justice Department, which means he is a private citizen, no longer reporting to Barr might be important. I tend to agree with those who say that getting Mueller to testify about what is in the report is lazy, people need to read his report themselves. And read the entire thing, not the Barr’ed version. But asking him about pressure that was put on him during the investigation is relevant to the obstruction of justice charge.
I was kidding about being charged to take my car off my hands. At least, I hope I was kidding! I do intend to stop by a local junk/salvage yard before I go car shopping, to see what they’d pay me for the scrap/parts. If it ends up being more than what a dealer offers me for a trade-in, I’ll go the salvage route; my car may be an old rustbucket at this point, but I do have some newer parts (e.g. brakes, clutch) that would be a welcome savings for anyone trying to keep their old rustbucket on the road.

Good Thor’s Day morning, Moosekind! Although it’s a lovely day at the moment, sunny and blue-skied, the weather persons are darkly predicting violent thunderstorms this afternoon. If today is like the previous two days, we’ll be as dry as bones. The present temp. in Ashburn is 71 F., going up to 85 F.
Still mulling over Mueller’s statement yesterday. Not satisfactory at all, as DoReMI said. The unredacted report is supposed to be available tomorrow, but will it be? Knowing the Barr-barian the way we do, I doubt it.
On today’s agenda are lunch with Darling Niece and lots of errands in the old neighborhood. After that I need to hotfoot it back here to attend the murder mystery play at 3 p.m. The food in the restaurants this week is wildly unappealing to someone who aspires to be at least vegetarian, if not vegan. Never mind, there’s a vegan dinner I can make quite quickly tonight, although I’ll have to make sure to get some fresh fruit to round it out.

We had thunderstorms overnight, and apparently even some hail, but they were gone by the time I woke up. I haven’t a clue what the temp is here in Sedalia other than cooler than expected. The trip up was pleasant – traveling with basket always is – and the concert last night was very good. The Irish pub with the gluten-free menu I was so looking forward to has unfortunately gone out of business. As have almost all the eateries that were on the “Square” area – of the three left the historic hotel doesn’t serve lunch, the bar & grill has 1 (count ’em 1) gluten-free item (pizza – half of the one I had for dinner is in the fridge here right now), and the Mennonite coffee shop sometimes has gluten-free scones (but good coffee). So I’m seeing pizza, Mexican food, and maybe BBQ pretty much it for the near future. But the hotel has a breakfast buffet that comes with the room and if they haven’t changed it from last year it’s a good one and has many things that safe as well as good. They’ve got a lunch buffet we didn’t visit last year because of all the eateries around the event. I’ll look at the menu this morning and see if it’s safe – just in case I get tired of pizza, Mexican, and maybe BBQ.
Back in Fayetteville it rained most of yesterday – only generated 2.8 KWHs and the m-t-d is 466 – so if there’s enough sun today and tomorrow we’ll get over 500 & if not, then not. According to the widget on the PV system it’s 59 heading for low 70s & will be the same tomorrow. It will be summer again by the time I get home late Sunday night though. 😁☀😁 I’m worried about the cats. They’ve not been left alone except for feeding for a 24-hour stretch before, much less a 5-day one. But other than that I’ve having a fine time.
I need to do a quick check around the internet. basket will be here shortly (he said around 7 for breakfast) so we can eat and be at the festival when things get started. The Mueller headline in my local right-wing rag read “Mueller said ‘Charges not an option'” subhead “Congress should hold president accountable.” The first paragraph put the lie to statements by tRump and his personal lawyer, Barr, by saying: “Special counsel Robert Mueller said Wednesday that charging President Donald Trump with a crime was “not an option” because of federal rules, but he used his first public remarks on the Russia investigation to emphasize that he did not exonerate the president. “If we had had confidence that the president clearly did not commit a crime, we would have said so,” Mueller declared. The special counsel’s remarks stood as a pointed rebuttal to Trump’s repeated claims that he was cleared and that the two-year inquiry was merely a “witch hunt.””
It sounded like an impeachment referral to me and a tweet last night by the House Judiciary Committee made me think that it is only a matter of time before a formal impeachment investigation begins. And do not believe the pundits saying that “Donald Trump welcomes 24/7 TV coverage of House hearings leading to his impeachment.” Bull. He will hate every minute of it and won’t want to be impeached regardless of how it turns out in the Senate. His entire life will be laid out to be laughed at and criticized and impeachment will be a personal rebuke that his delicate ego will revolt against. I am increasingly moving into the camp that says impeachment is necessary to lay down a marker for the history books that what Trump did to “win” the presidency – and his abuse of his powers to block the investigation – is NOT okay. I hope it is painful enough to deter future candidates and presidents.

Daily Kamala
Good morning, 55 and foggy in Bellingham. To my great relief our grandson neurology appointment was both helpful and encouraging, so now he has a treatment path that should help him. The medical name for the severe muscle spasms he’s experiencing is myoclonus, and many of the underlying causes are serious and frightening diseases with no good outcome. They think his body has a “tremor” response to stress and anxiety, and that form is treatable with a positive prognosis. Floods me with relief to type those words! He will focus on trying to finish school now and this summer he will start working with various therapists to learn the skills he will need to manage what will probably be a life time issue.
More good news yesterday……our son’s dog, Heide has a tumor on her leg but it’s most likely benign and will be removed on Friday. whew! So between Ryan worry, Heide worry, and tRump angst I cleaned the garage and RonK drove a pickup load to Goodwill. I knew I was saving that mess for a good reason :)

Good morning, Meesefolk; 59 when I got up with a rainy high of 70. Hubby is going to pick up a new-to-us riding mower today, but if the forecast is correct, we’re still several days away from being able to use it. I’m hoping our very rainy spring is why so few of the farmers’ fields I pass every day are planted. The other likely alternative is that they’re letting the fields lie fallow because soybeans aren’t worth the time or effort without a market. I can’t remember the last time, if ever, I saw the fields completely untouched this late in the spring. Next week looks like it might be a bit dryer, so if it’s just been too wet, the fields may be workable then.
If there’s any political news today, I’ll probably be missing it. Another busy day, and I need to get back to it. Good day to and for all!
