Hi, Meese, here’s what bfitz would have typed if it hadn’t been for les gremlins:
It’s 65 heading for 88 – I’ll need to close up the house in another hour – and supposedly sunny. But then it was supposedly sunny yesterday and we only generate 13.85 KWHs. The m-t-d at 262 is not on track and losing ground. sigh.
I managed just over 7 hours of sleep, some of it actually solid sleep, so while still groggy I’m not as groggy. My hands are cold but they’re not painfully so – that comes with Winter – and at least are still relatively functional. So I’m OK. I haven’t checked on anybody yet this morning but as of yesterday evening when I signed off there were no particular changes. Everybody’s hanging on. Which is mostly good. (The only not good is Amelia needs to complete some paperwork and she hasn’t had the energy/brain function to do it.) Holding the Good Thoughts for everybody. (Including rain for Dee/Dee’s garden.)

It is 70 degrees in Tucson with an expected daytime high of 79. It was raining when I took the dog out and is expected to rain off and on all day and throughout the weekend. Besides the regular monsoon activity, we will likely get the remnants of the storm forming in the Gulf of Mexico which will be named Danielle if it becomes a hurricane.
A judge in Michigan blocked enforcement of a 1931 law banning abortion. He said enforcing it will harm actual people who have been born and that they should wait until voters weigh in on the abortion protections which are on the ballot in November. That will surely raise the stakes of that election – I am counting on Michiganders to make this judge’s brave decision to not be in vain.
Busy day here as I catch up on projects that I was too busy to do during the week.

Jan, all these stupid, vicious men, blinded by their hatred of, and contempt for, women, have no idea how PISSED OFF women are.
People who keep track of such things are noting a huge increase in voter registration, especially on the Democratic side.
I saw those tweets! I hope that everyone who registers to vote also takes the time to vote. Reproductive rights are on the ballot in every single state not just those that have a ballot referendum. If we can hold the House and get net three Senators we can break the filibuster and pass a federal right to abortion.
It’s 70 heading for 91 and already it’s gone from “sunny” to “partly cloudy” today. sigh. We generated 11.75 KWHs yesterday so lost more ground. The m-t-d is 274 – to be on track it needed to be at least 285 and reach 300 by the end of today. Nope. Not only ain’t gonna happen, it’s not possible for this system even at its peak on a peak-sunny day to generate 26 in a single day. Happy climate change.

Good Saturday morning, Meese! Judging by the quotation marks in Bfitz’ post, the glitch has been fixed. Right now in Ashbuggy it’s 83 F. already at 10:00 a.m., on a sunny but humid day. Our high will reach 88 F.
Have just been down to the community herb garden to gather some fresh mint. I’d have liked to get parsley too, but it grew sparsely. Never mind, the mint is the important part. I am jonesing for tabouleh and feel the need to make it for dinner before summer is over. I told Dearly he would not like it, but too bad—today is Saturday and it is therefore Vegetarian Night.
Poor baby Monty hurt his little paw somehow, so is behaving in a very subdued fashion. Naturally this happened AFTER the vet visit! We’re letting him take it easy until he feels better.
Yesterday I had my toenails painted yellow and blue, alternately, in support of Ukraine. Slava Ukraini! Surely even the Russians are not too stupid to realize that if they blow up that nuclear plant in Ukraine, the radioactive fallout will blow toward them as well as the Ukrainians. Gods, I hate Putie!
And as for Greg Abbott, may unspeakable things happen to him. I would ask that moths devour his underwear, but I want someone to sue his pants off first. What a jerk!

I am not sure that Putin weighs any of the long term consequences of his actions. He is obsessed with his place in history and determined to reconstitute the Russian Empire regardless of the literal fallout. The news lately suggests that “holding” Ukraine is going to be much more difficult than “invading” Ukraine (which itself was no walk in the park). That is the problem with any sort of invasion – can you occupy the country you just invaded or will guerilla warfare, the resistance of those whose country you invaded make that impossible? Countless nations learned that in Afghanistan. I hope someone in Russia gets sick of the carnage and decides to topple his regime.
