Week-long Welcomings from Moosylvania: Feb. 28th through Mar. 5th

Welcome to The Moose Pond! The Welcomings posts give the Moose, old and new, a place to visit and share words about the weather, life, the world at large and the small parts of Moosylvania that we each inhabit.

Welcomings will be posted at the start of each week (every Sunday morning). To find the posts, just bookmark this link and Voila! (which is Moose for “I found everyone!!”).

The format is simple: each day, the first moose to arrive on-line will post a comment welcoming the new day and complaining (or bragging!) about their weather. Or mentioning an interesting or thought provoking news item. Or simply checking in.

So … what’s going on in your part of Moosylvania?

NOTE: The comments page will now split off after 20 or so left margin comments with the most recent comments on the current page. To see the older comments, scroll to the bottom of the page and use the link.

  1. Hi Folks – thanks – it’s been rough the last couple of months with Trish. She was only 46, but her body was in such bad shape – and she was in so much pain. Because she did her complaining in such a joking manner, very few knew how serious it was until she went to the hospital. The NC governor and state legislature have her blood on their hands – they denied expanded medicaid. She didn’t have insurance so she didn’t get treated until it was really too late. Especially since the hospital sent her home too early – by the time she got back into the hospitable it was really too late. They spent a week getting her re-stabilized then just as they were starting to look for cause, she died. And only anger is keeping the tears far enough at bay that I can type at all. I’ve got to get back to my own and respond to everybody, but each time I go in there I start crying again. Bubba’s diary especially, since that’s pretty much a reprise of one he did before the rox/sux wars – Trish’s computer went down and she was offline for several weeks until group efforts got her another one. This time she’s not coming back. Thanks again everybody. I may go hide out in an HNV diary for a little bit so I can stop crying. {{{HUGS}}}

    • Hang in there, bfitz.

      Take a break occasionally. A handy feature of online greetings is that if you go offline for a while, they will be there when you get back.

  2. Oh, bfitz, I am so very sorry! Poor Trish! Had no idea she was so terribly ill. OMG, she will be so deeply missed by everyone, even those who didn’t know her well.

    I am so sad. You must be devastated, bfitz. Sending you love and warm vibes. May Trish rest in peace in the Otherworld. Blessed be.
