Good morning, Meese! It’s a day as beautiful as the Goddess Freya herself, with cloudless blue skies, birds tweeting madly (presumably about tasty worms, not politics), and daffodils popping out everywhere. It’s 54 F. in NoVa now, going up to 73 F. I might walk up to the school to pick up Miss Pink Cheeks from Chess Club this afternoon. She’s started reading book 4 in the Harry Potter series, so when she finishes that she’ll receive a few more “clever girl” chocolates.
Got a full day planned as usual—if only things would slow down. I’d wish for a two-day snowstorm but that would be nasty of me, considering what other parts of the country are going through. It would be nice to have a couple of days off from duties, though, so one could just vege out and eat popcorn.

Started the day at 45 and fog, might be going up to 55 maybe, might clear off maybe – got just over 11 KWHs yesterday and the month’s to-date is 214. Threw my back out taking off my boots this morning – one of the reasons I don’t like cold weather is my back muscles tense up and any abrupt movement can cause them to go into spasm (or pull my back out of alignment). Fortunately we have an icepack here – one round already, will do it again once it’s refrozen – and ibuprofen. moving is very difficult. sigh.
Blessings on the DK people who have covered avalon bear and Alexandra Lynch’s utilities. Back to concentrating on gtghawaii’s March rent. Everybody else won’t hit “urgent” until next month – and that’s if nobody gives nothin’ – sigh. I’ve got to get to the Post Office and get some more postcards. Used the last I had this week. Not going to be walking there today though, that’s for sure. Not going to be driving either – my right leg doesn’t want to move. We share see what we shall see. Obviously I can still keyboard as well as before my back went out.

We had thunder storms during the night. Naturally one of my little pups wanted to go out at 4:30 right in the middle of it. She made real quick.

I have mixed feelings re this order……so glad I live in a blue state where proactive measures are underway, but so sad such actions are needed.

It is 23 degrees in the heart of the midwest with an expected daytime high of 42. Cloudy skies. Madison has 18 degrees and snow … I hope it clears up for my return trip on Sunday.
The DNC chair will be elected today. I hope it is Pete Buttigieg but that would take a deadlock on the first ballot and that would be dangerous. Pete is the only one saying that it is Not About Trump. And it isn’t … if we run against the orange shitgibbon instead of for our values, we make a big mistake. His policies are Republican Party policies and certainly our dislike of tRump will help keep our people motivated but if we follow some path that says getting rid if him somehow makes things better, we are deluded. We are running against Republicans and their puny vision of America where we can’t afford to care for the sick and hungry and are afraid of a free and diverse society.
I won’t be able to put up a Democratic Party post today – I won’t have time to research and gather videos and quotes. So I apologize for the stale front page. I might look around and re-post a President Obama speech so we have something to compare and contrast with the vulgar talking yam’s speech before his Congressional lackeys on Tuesday.

Hope y’all caught Rachel last night. When the impeachment hearings start, a lot of the research will be stuff she & her team uncovered or was the first to broadcast. Last meeting with my training group today. And I am not going to sign back up next year. I love the group, but I don’t have any money for the fee or to enter the race, and adding a 3rd fundraising thing has been a real strain. After that, it’s groceries, and…… clearing out the dvr, I guess. There’s a No Ban No Wall protest at the Capitol, but it’s this morning while my team is doing our thing.
If all y’all saw a momentary glimpse – and an email and a Tweet – for tomorrow morning’s Welcoming, you are not losing your mind! I accidentally published instead of saved and unpublished it as soon as I noticed my mistake.

Good morning, Moosylvania! It’s 59 F. and partly cloudy here in NoVa, going up to 68 F. before a weather front swoops down I-95 at 1 p.m. today, dropping the temperature by 20 degrees F. and slamming us with Thor’s bolts, lightning, and so on. I’ve asked Dearly Beloved to check the generator and the supply of gas, as we cannot be expected to do without afternoon tea at 4. Dinner, perhaps, but not afternoon tea.
Got a cold firing up so feel quite off this morning. Would like to get my hair done, which is kinda stupid as I have gym at 12:30, but I don’t want to take care of this chore while a storm rages outside. Problem is, I need a haircut, and that I can’t do that by myself.
Following the Russian Thing with interest. When sending postcards to our imbecilic Congress critters, is it better to be positive than negative? For example, would it be better to write “Save our ACA—otherwise people will die,” or “Hands off our ACA—otherwise you’ll cause the death of thousands”?
And for Paulie-Poo, would it be better to write “Don’t starve us Grannies! Hands off Social Security,” or “Save Social Security—we Grannies provide the unpaid child care that keeps the employment rate up and the welfare rolls down”?
There are times when one simply wants to vent. Jan, hope you’re enjoying your vacation or business trip and getting some R&R!

Good morning. Back to winter in Chicago. 30 degrees with flurries.
I hope there are investigations going on, but they are in the hands of r’s, so who knows for sure. I can’t believe we have to continue for months or years with this crap. Who knows where we’re going to end up.
22 at dawn and still only 27 but the sun is shining and we’re heading for 45. Nothing obviously killed by the freeze – at least not in my yard which admittedly is a relatively protected area. Wind’s NWN right now but supposed to shift around to SES by afternoon. Don’t know what the heck that will do but my bet is there will be a storm front moving in as the next 3-day forecast is warmer but cloudy with a chance of rain.
Back still bunged up from yesterday – thank goddess not as bad as when I did it or even the first 4 hours afterwards. Can walk (rather than hobble) if I’m careful and don’t need a “grab bar” in the bathroom which is just as well since I don’t have one, but I need to get up and walk every 10 to 15 minutes and let’s just say sleep wasn’t good. Ibuprofen and coffee are pretty how I’m addressing it at the moment. I’ll ice again in a bit – but since I’m not sure whether I’ve pulled my alignment out or have a muscle spasm, I’m not sure ice is the answer anyway. I still need to work on my Street Prophets for today over at DK – and hope to heaven we can get some movement on gtghawaii’s March rent. We just need to get her through March, she’s got stuff in train for April, but we do need to help her get through March. sigh.
New planets are great for the young and healthy. If enough of them take off, we may find ourselves in one of Diana’s short stories. heh. Meanwhile, I need to move – get out of this chair and away from the keyboard for a bit. Bright the day and wind to thy wings, Meeses. {{{HUGS}}}

Good morning, 36 and cloudy in Bellingham today. Reading the news of the day makes me even more grateful I have a garden to tend. RonK has been doing most of the winter cleanup so ferns are clipped, the hydrangeas are pruned, and trimming the winter burn on the salal is nearly finished. I’m going to plant some spring bulbs in the pots by the back entrance and try not to worry about the cyber war with Russia and tRump’s involvement.
