Week-long Welcomings from Moosylvania: Sept. 9th through Sept. 15th

Welcome to The Moose Pond! The Welcomings posts give the Moose, old and new, a place to visit and share words about the weather, life, the world at large and the small parts of Moosylvania that we each inhabit.

Welcomings will be posted at the start of each week (every Sunday morning). To find the posts, just bookmark this link and Voila! (which is Moose for “I found everyone!!”).

The format is simple: each day, the first moose to arrive on-line will post a comment welcoming the new day and complaining (or bragging!) about their weather. Or mentioning an interesting or thought provoking news item. Or simply checking in.

So … what’s going on in your part of Moosylvania?

NOTE: The comments page will now split off after 20 or so left margin comments with the most recent comments on the current page. To see the older comments, scroll to the bottom of the page and use the link.

  1. Good morning, 55 and partly sunny in Bellingham. I made progress on my desk mess project yesterday, but I’ve under estimated the amount of time it will take to finish. Apparently when one layers in years of paper and memorabilia it’s time consuming to reverse the process!

I know tRump’s reign of stupidity isn’t over, but after yesterday the world seems a bit calmer and Mueller’s quiet competency is reassuring.

Manafort’s surrender shows Mueller probe’s overwhelming force

While Mueller passed up the opportunity for a public trial that would bring to light more proof of wrongdoing, legal experts say Manafort’s plea agreement contained important new details that continue what has been a public education campaign of sorts by the special counsel.

“The Mueller team is the A team, for real,” said Paul Rosenzweig, a senior fellow at the nonprofit R Street Institute and a former senior counsel to independent counsel Kenneth Starr. “And they are using a series of speaking indictments to, in effect, file their final report.”

  2. It’s another sunny day out here in Mission Viejo, Ca with the temperature currently at 84. Feeling better today than yesterday. Had to use my asthma nebulizer (breathe asthma meds right into the bronchial tubes.
