Week-long Welcomings from Moosylvania: March 19th

Welcome to The Moose Pond! The Welcomings posts give the Moose, old and new, a place to visit and share words about the weather, life, the world at large and the small parts of Moosylvania that we each inhabit.

Welcomings will be posted at the start of each week (usually Saturday night with a Sunday date). To find the posts, just bookmark this link and Voila! (which is Moose for “I found everyone!!”).

The format is simple: each day, the first moose to arrive on-line will post a comment welcoming the new day and complaining (or bragging!) about their weather. Or mentioning an interesting or thought provoking news item. Or simply checking in.

So … what’s going on in your part of Moosylvania?

NOTE: The comments page will split off after 20 or so left margin comments with the most recent comments on the current page. To see the older comments, scroll to the bottom of the page (right before “Leave A Reply”) and use the Pages Tool to view previous pages, shown here with 3 pages of comments available and Page 2 circled.

  1. It’s 44 heading for 64 and overcast at the moment but not dark – just gray. And it’s supposed to clear of in bit. I can almost see blue patches to the west. Yesterday we generated 1.5 KWHs and the m-t-d is 225 with 7 production days left in March.

    Rocky sleep and foggy brain today. And there’s just too much stuff going on I can’t do anything about. Not just can’t fix but can’t even make better. Something I try not to think about because it’s so depressing. Oh well. I haven’t checked in on anybody yet but as of last night nothing was particularly new. Not good but trucking along. Time to get started on my online “chores”. Holding the Good Thoughts. {{{Meeses}}}

  2. Good morning, 37 and mostly cloudy. I think I’ll try to do some more pruning in the garden today. RonK worked on the salal yesterday but will need a day to recover so I’ll see what happens to me. Getting old is interesting! Best wishes to all.

  3. Good Saturday afternoon, Meese! Yesterday we received half an inch of lovely rain. By the time daylight faded the grass was visibly greener. This morning we woke up to more cold, lovely, steady rain. If we receive as much as an inch altogether, that’ll put us only 3 inches under for the year to date.

    Right now, at a few minutes past noon, it’s 43 F., supposedly climbing up to 61 F. We’ll see.

    Meese, I’ve been busy Googling and learned that I am not supposed to be feeling this bad after 7 days post-op! I Googled “after-effects of intubation” and learned they were supposed to last only 1-2 days. Sleep was hard to come by last week, so I’ve been falling asleep at random times. This afternoon I am determined to go to the gym and get on the treadmill, as “walking” is supposed to mitigate the effects of the, um, mucus.

    Sorry for telling you more than you wanted to know! I am so looking forward to feeling better and having my usual energy. Elder Son was going to cook a special dinner for me tomorrow for my birthday, but alas, I can’t talk. What I’m going to do if my voice does not return I don’t know. Certainly I’ll have to resign from all my activities.

    Well, must get on with whatever I’m supposed to be doing. Wishing a good day to all at the Pond!
