Week-long Welcomings from Moosylvania: May 7th

Welcome to The Moose Pond! The Welcomings posts give the Moose, old and new, a place to visit and share words about the weather, life, the world at large and the small parts of Moosylvania that we each inhabit.

Welcomings will be posted at the start of each week (usually Saturday night with a Sunday date). To find the posts, just bookmark this link and Voila! (which is Moose for “I found everyone!!”).

The format is simple: each day, the first moose to arrive on-line will post a comment welcoming the new day and complaining (or bragging!) about their weather. Or mentioning an interesting or thought provoking news item. Or simply checking in.

So … what’s going on in your part of Moosylvania?

NOTE: The comments page will split off after 20 or so left margin comments with the most recent comments on the current page. To see the older comments, scroll to the bottom of the page (right before “Leave A Reply”) and use the Pages Tool to view previous pages, shown here with 3 pages of comments available and Page 2 circled.

  1. Good morning, meeses! Friday …

    It is 75 degrees in Tucson with an expected daytime high of 86. Sunny skies are in the forecast. I have to be out and about tonight but it should be back down into the upper 70s by then. I do not want to sit outside – without shade – when it is 86.

    I got caught up in a project that ran long and now I have some errands to run.

    See all y’all later!

  2. Good morning, 62 and sunny outside my window today. I haven’t done much this week so my quiet life has been really quiet. My friend is still in hospital due to chemo side effects so that’s part of the night time worry, and the rest is another round of tRump angst. So I’m gloomy and it’s a lovely sunny day…..best fix my attitude asap! Best wishes to all.

    • {{{princesspat}}} hopefully the sunshine will help. Especially if you’re up to getting outside in it for a bit. Healing Energy & moar {{{HUGS}}}

  3. Saturday Meese. 56 going up to 69 here in Kingston NY.

    Puerto Rico. Sovereign impunity

  4. Good morning. We had very loud thunderstorms overnight, still raining a bit. Picking up my groceries, and will cook some vegetables later. Waiting on my walk till afternoon, there may be a gap in the rain.

  5. It’s 68 heading for 88 and mostly sunny at the moment. But it’s only a short sunny bit, just shining through a gap in the cloud cover. We got 14 KWHs yesterday and the m-t-d at 188.8 while no longer on track for 480 is still on track to generate more than last month. For now.

    The Find-a-Grave people made aashirs nani/Suzanne wait 90 days before she could set up a memorial there for Bobby but time has flown and it’s up now. Suzanne will be happy to put a message in their name (as moderator she can do that) for anyone who doesn’t want to open an account with them.     I’d best get to my boosting chores. Holding the Good Thoughts for everybody. {{{Meeses}}}

  6. Good morning, meeses! Saturday …

    It is 79 degrees in Tucson with an expected daytime high of 90. Sunny skies are in the forecast. Next week we are expected to get some rain – which would be a good thing.

    It is already 9:30am here and I need to get off my computer. We were out late last night for an event and I am paying the price today. I wanted to stay in bed but the sun was already coming up and that causes the birds to be very noisy.

    See all y’all later!

  7. Good afternoon, Meese! It’s 70 F. on this showery Saturday. I don’t think we’ll get the violent thunderstorms and torrential rain “they” predicted—we never do. However, at least they’ve begun to acknowledge that we’re in drought mode, 5 inches under normal for the year to date.

    I was craving tacos after karate class this morning, so we just went across the street to Anita’s New Mexican Restaurant and had them. Yum!

    I’m still the class dunce in karate but Roger, our teacher, tells me I’ll get better. I can’t help wondering why he gives us commands in Korean when it’s a Japanese martial art we’re learning.

    My voice is getting better! Every day it improves a bit and people are noticing. I hope that by the time I have to lead the Biography Book Club next Friday, I’ll be speaking normally. At the moment I sound as if I have a cold.

    Dearly is resting on the sofa watching Fulham on the telly and I’m off for a nap. M’Daughter is going to call me after tea for a chat.

    Wishing a good day to all at the Pond!

    • {{{Diana}}} YAY!!! for your voice getting better. Healing Energy & moar {{{HUGS}}}
