Week-long Welcomings from Moosylvania: September 17th

Welcome to The Moose Pond! The Welcomings posts give the Moose, old and new, a place to visit and share words about the weather, life, the world at large and the small parts of Moosylvania that we each inhabit.

Welcomings will be posted at the start of each week (usually Saturday night with a Sunday date). To find the posts, just bookmark this link and Voila! (which is Moose for “I found everyone!!”).

The format is simple: each day, the first moose to arrive on-line will post a comment welcoming the new day and complaining (or bragging!) about their weather. Or mentioning an interesting or thought provoking news item. Or simply checking in.

So … what’s going on in your part of Moosylvania?

NOTE: The comments page will split off after 20 or so left margin comments with the most recent comments on the current page. To see the older comments, scroll to the bottom of the page (right before “Leave A Reply”) and use the Pages Tool to view previous pages, shown here with 3 pages of comments available and Page 2 circled.

  1. It’s 73 heading for 89 and sunny. At least at the moment. Yesterday we generated 5.6 KWHs and the m-t-d at 223.9 is still on track for 300. Barely.

    I’ll need to close up the house to keep in the coolth shortly. The widget has inched next week’s highs up a bit – from low 80s to mid 80s. The overnights are inched up a bit, too, but not as much. So I still should be able to get by without the A/C. Which is good since I’m not generating enough electricity to run it at this point.

    Amelia/earicicle had a rough week between medical staff not listening to her when she tells them of issues she’s having and the pharmacy texting her that her Rx was ready when it wasn’t – then gaslighting her about it plus acting as if she were unreasonable to expect the pharmacist to stop “giving injections” to prepare her Rx when it was supposed to have been done. But she sent my kitties a bunch of cat toys – skitter mice and a catnip-stuffed toy banana that they’ve been having a ball with plus some other catnip toys I’ve set aside for later. Fineena found her toaster and also more stuff to throw out. Step by step. Aji’s health is getting worse and they need sales badly. They can’t do their own bills, have canceled all their medical, and hurt worst because they can’t help anybody else.

    Anyway, Happy Mabon & I’m off to start my boosting day. Holding the Good Thoughts for everybody. {{{Meeses}}}

  2. Good morning, 61 and partly cloudy with real rain expected later today. RonK is home now, and thanks to our kids help he’s settled in the main floor until he can manage the stairs. Sending a person his age home from surgery when he still needs round the clock care is the way medicine works now, but without our kids help he would not have the care he needs because I could not do it alone. Today will be busy with family but we are very grateful for the support.

    Thanks to all for your healing thoughts and as always, my best wishes to all.
