Week-long Welcomings from Moosylvania: October 8th

Welcome to The Moose Pond! The Welcomings posts give the Moose, old and new, a place to visit and share words about the weather, life, the world at large and the small parts of Moosylvania that we each inhabit.

Welcomings will be posted at the start of each week (usually Saturday night with a Sunday date). To find the posts, just bookmark this link and Voila! (which is Moose for “I found everyone!!”).

The format is simple: each day, the first moose to arrive on-line will post a comment welcoming the new day and complaining (or bragging!) about their weather. Or mentioning an interesting or thought provoking news item. Or simply checking in.

So … what’s going on in your part of Moosylvania?

NOTE: The comments page will split off after 20 or so left margin comments with the most recent comments on the current page. To see the older comments, scroll to the bottom of the page (right before “Leave A Reply”) and use the Pages Tool to view previous pages, shown here with 3 pages of comments available and Page 2 circled.

  1. Good morning, 55 and partly sunny outside my window today. The leaves on my old maple trees are changing color, and now that the yard service is collecting them I can relax and enjoy the seasonal falling leaves. We rake/blow the leaves from the garden beds and walkways to the lawn and they take it from there. Ron usually does the bulk of that work so I’m very grateful my garden assistant is helping me now. It will be several weeks of leaf gathering but knowing I have help makes it all easier. Best wishes to all.

  2. Good morning, meeses! Saturday …

It is 70 degrees in Tucson with an expected daytime high of 88. Sunny skies (except for the partial eclipse) are in the forecast.

I hope that the weekend brings more people unwilling to vote for the sexual-predator enabler to be the Speaker of the House. I am also 100% certain that Gym Jordan will gleefully shut down the government without any hesitation – anyone who does NOT want that to happen needs to vote for someone else.

I just finished my walk before it heats up and have to get back to projects that have accumulated while I was working on a hot deadline.

    See all y’all later!
