Week-long Welcomings from Moosylvania: April 7th

Welcome to The Moose Pond! The Welcomings posts give the Moose, old and new, a place to visit and share words about the weather, life, the world at large and the small parts of Moosylvania that we each inhabit.

Welcomings will be posted at the start of each week (usually Saturday night with a Sunday date). To find the posts, just bookmark this link and Voila! (which is Moose for “I found everyone!!”).

The format is simple: each day, the first moose to arrive on-line will post a comment welcoming the new day and complaining (or bragging!) about their weather. Or mentioning an interesting or thought provoking news item. Or simply checking in.

So … what’s going on in your part of Moosylvania?

NOTE: The comments page will split off after 20 or so left margin comments with the most recent comments on the current page. To see the older comments, scroll to the bottom of the page (right before “Leave A Reply”) and use the Pages Tool to view previous pages, shown here with 3 pages of comments available and Page 2 circled.

  1. Good morning. Watching local news, I’m tired of news about tfg. Later, I’m going to walk in the park with my old training group. Hope everyone has a good day.

  2. Good morning, meeses! Saturday …

    It is 53 degrees in Tucson 🌵 with an expected daytime high of 82. Sunny skies are in the forecast. Warm days, cool nights, ideal weather.

    MVP Kamala Harris was in Tucson yesterday taking it to the Republican Misogyny Party and their leader tRump. Arizona Republicans have had many chances to fix the problem they (it seems purposefully) left when they passed their 15 week ban before Dobbs was enacted. The first thing Democrats did in this year’s legislative session was to bring up the repeal of the 1864 law and it was shot down. Republicans hold a one vote majority in each legislative chamber and not a single one of them could break with their party and vote to repeal the ban. So when you see Republican legislators pretending to care about the plight of women in their state, they are lying sacks of excrement. I hope that Attorney General Kris Mayes can find some way to put the ban back on hold until the people of Arizona can vote to fix it.

    I have a number of projects that need attention this weekend and I have to put together a list of the ones that have hard deadlines and focus on them first.

    See all y’all later!

  3. It’s 68 going up to 81 and sunny. Yesterday we generated 20.3 KWHs and the m-t-d at 180 is doing just fine. It might even reach 200 by end of day.

    Fineena’s still in the emergency unit at the hospital so we can’t send her anything. Her phone battery is low & there’s no hospital phone in the room, but texts and maybe emails should work. We’re hoping they admit her and put her in a regular room – and keep her long enough to run all the tests she’s needed but hasn’t managed to get done over the last 6 months or so.

    I’d best get going on my boosting day. Holding the Good Thoughts for everybody. {{{Meeses}}}

  4. Good morning, 49 and mostly sunny outside my windows today. Our sons will be here soon to assemble a Costco green house kit for the veggie garden. It’s not very big, but will give Ron a place to start seeds and to put vulnerable plants under cover when night temps drop. He grows herbs in pots so they are vulnerable to frost.

    We are feeling mortal today as three old friends died last week. Lots of memories, and a renewed commitment to keep living our lives as best we can for as long as we can. Best wishes to all.
