There will be no Mueller Time that touches the yam directly but his business empire may collapse and his demon spawn imprisoned for his crimes. The name “Trump” should become synonymous with corruption and ignorance.
I was thinking this morning during my wakeup time that the planet will not survive 8 years of Trump. Everything we do has to be focused on, first, limiting his power and then, second, ending his presidency after four years. The campaign rallies are frightening because they show a path for him to win a second term: fear is a strong motivator. But we need to remember that we outnumber them if we get out and vote.

I want to see him utterly humiliated. I want to see him so poverty-stricken that he’ll actually have to depend on Social Security (if indeed he ever paid into it) for survival. I want to see him reaching for Depends in the supermarket because he’s lost his…well, you know.

I plug a keyboard into my laptop for just that reason. Yes, it kind of defeats the purpose of having a laptop, but it saves me the frustration of laptop keyboarding.
53 with high of 74 today in Vancouver BC. Should be clear today but rain is in the forecast for tomorrow and Tuesday. Doesn’t bother me as much since I’m heading back tomorrow but my sister might be affected as she’s staying till Wednesday. Had a really good day yesterday doing the Vancouver Sampler – a bit of everything including a suspension bridge. Today will probably be family time.
Will be heading to upstate NY next week in the Kingston area to stay with my cousin. I can’t wait!

Oh, basket, I hear you! We were in Vancouver once and it rained practically nonstop. The rain and mist made Gas Town look very mystical, though.

Tea is steeping, quinoa cooking in the rice cooker. Watching local news, waiting for Joy Reid’s show. She’s in Texas, and has a longer than usual show. It hit 100 here yesterday, only upper 90s today. I can’t understand keeping people in tents — even “air conditioned” ones. I hope Love Is Bigger Than Anything In Its Way and we can overcome this.
Upper 60s with high humidity, how much depends on which widget. Just letting up from raining – we’ve had a slow, steady, soaking rain the like of which I’ve been praying for Aji to get since about 4 am. PV system just got out of night mode, it was that dark. Got 19.4 KWHs yesterday and the m-t-d is 425. If it clears off now the rain has stopped we may get some good production today. If not, then not. We’ve got 8 days to get it over 500. That’s doable with just 4 good days.
The stolen kids are falling off the radar, just like Puerto Rico did within a few weeks of Maria. I don’t know how to get it back – but I’ll keep RTing everything I can as I do with the Puerto Rico tweets and hope the signal boost helps. Those kids will be “adopted” into “gud Xtian” homes with fake or non-existent paperwork waiving parental rights if we don’t get them back soon. HHS has already put out a lying statement that people who trekked 3 months with their children have “chosen” to sign away their rights to those kids. And it’s just so hard to figure out what to do when it’s the govt itself that’s doing the lying and child-theft ring. (Not that it’s new – Aji’s been shouting it from the rooftops because Native folks recognized what was going on immediately. From experience.) But I’ll keep trying anything I can think of. This isn’t the only evil Deplorable govt is about, of course, but it’s equally as important as any of the other evils. Not a “distraction” – not “small stuff” – equally important that we stop the separation of families, that we get those kids back to their parents – & that we don’t replace separation with indefinite detainment (AKA concentration camps).

Good morning, 61 and partly sunny in Bellingham. My middle of the night worry time was long, so it’s another sleepy and slow morning. If worries were a tool I’d be a potent anti-tRump force!
We’re going to the grand girls ballet recital this afternoon so I’ll raid my son’s garden for roses and make them each a bouquet. He has some very old rose bushes that seem resistant to disease because all he does is enjoy them.

Finally got my puter back yesterday afternoon – and after I hooked it up it crashed – twice.
Called the store and went ballistic since they gave it a clean bill of health. They had ignored my suggestion that they check a driver error. Got on the phone with Geek Squad – – and a nice agent – female- listened to me – looked over the records and worked for about an hour – found the flaw – fixed it.
So now have my working puter – yay!
Never had a slew of MAGA trolls in my mentions before – wow – MAGAnuts lose it over Auntie Maxine. I had throw a major block party.
Puerto Rico
An army of bots was unleashed over the weekend. I saw one of the people I follow remarking that it happened like clockwork – at the stroke of an hour, they just showed up. I am not sure if it was the Maxine Waters thing or related to one of the Orange Orshole’s many scandals.

The mainstream media has been focused on “how do Democrats win back Trump voters” and are recommending that we turn a blind eye to the racism that was exposed by that vote – or that we should reach out (read as “move right”) to appeal to Republicans who voted to get a Gorsucks and now realize what they lost to do that. No. We don’t need them or want them. There is a majority of decent people in this country and we will get them to the polls and then govern with the confidence that we reflect their values, not the fear that we will upset the Republicans who voted for us.
I would think that Gutierrez would be a strong contender in a PR governors race – he would not have the baggage they heaped on Mayor Cruz and would not be someone like Gov. Rickie who would give photo ops to the papertowel thrower in the Oval Office.

My goddaughter is a MAC tech – so couldn’t help me with the PC – however she said – I’d probably get a better response on the phone if I lower my voice and call in as “Dennis”

I was watching two stories yesterday: the reports of family separation from the border and the outrage over the demand to suspend due process for people who enter our country. It is good to see that people can still be outraged when Herr Twittler wants to shred the Constitution but, really, this is nothing new. He has shredded every established norm and his cabinet operates without oversight from the supine Republican Congress. We don’t run on impeachment, per se, but we surely run on turning Congress back into a co-equal branch of government.
But Claire McCaskill reminded everyone in an address over the weekend how we run and win. Poll: 66% Of Voters Oppose Trump DOJ’s Move To Gut Patient Protections – we become Health Care Voters. People who don’t care about baby jails, who don’t care that the 100 mile CBP “show me your papers” enforcement zone includes 2 out of every 3 people (including me!) apparently DO care that they will lose coverage for pre-existing conditions. And that is not just the “moochers” on the exchanges, that is everyone including those on employer insurance. The poll was of likely voters not just random people off the street and the 66% included 47% who “strongly” disapprove. With support of their tax cut at 34% added to the outcry over plans for cutting Medicare to pay for the deficit they created, there is no good news for Congressional Republicans – and no way to repair the damage before the mid-terms.
This morning there will be some opinions from the Supreme Court. Most people expect the Janus anti-union case to be one of them (they have until Friday to release them all). That is the case that replaced the Friedrichs case that ended in a tie when Scalia died and they held his seat open for a Republican president. There is little doubt what will happen now. I hope that John Roberts realizes that his court will be remembered for dismantling all the protections earned by blood and tears by working people (unions), black people (voting rights) and women (reproductive rights). History will not be kind.

77 at 6am, headed toward “only” upper 90s. So I suppose it could be worse. Today starts our week of practicing in the new system, while they make sure all the data transferred & the new thing works. I brought my iPod & headphones. If there are no calls to take, I’m listening to music. Though my brain is playing Disappear for me without the use of the iPod.

Good morning meese. 55 heading to 67 in this part of Canada, and it’s almost time for me to head to the Amtrak station to catch my train back to Seattle (flying home tonight). I had a great time visiting with my relatives and exploring more of Vancouver. My sister will be staying a few more days and then taking the train all the way back to Sacramento.

Good morning, Moosekind! Never made it here yesterday because of cooking Sunday breakfast, going for a walk—first by myself, then with the beast—and watching the race.
We decided to eat at home yesterday evening, partly because we were so freaked that dinner took 2 hours on Saturday evening and partly because I wanted dinner to be finished so I could go hear the Gay Men’s Chorus. Did not enjoy the concert as much as I’d hoped to—the selection of songs was bizarre (the concert was billed as “an evening of popular music, including the Beatles), and the arrangement of said songs was even more strange. When you think, “Dear Goddess, I coulda been home folding laundry” twelve minutes in, you know you’re in trouble. When you start thinking that even a shiatsu massage would be preferable to this, you know the evening is in ruins.
Well, there’s always next year! Next year I’ll spend that hour listening to paint dry on the wall.
Today will bring a visit to the pet store for various reasons. We’ll take ze animal with us. I really need to fill out some paperwork today, both for the passport renewal and for my new health care provider.
Been fuming over at Orange over an op-ed in this morning’s Washington Poop, so won’t go into it here. Reading it, I realized why print media is in its death throes: because it deserves to be.
Oh, by the way, it’s sunny here in Ashburn, with a temp. of 69 F., going up to 81 F. I think we can remove the covers on the porch furniture today. Wishing a good day to all at the Pond!
69 & humid this morning. I was afraid I’d have to put off the laundry another day but the sun did come out half an hour ago so the laundry is in the machine and doing its thing. Only got 7 KWHs yesterday and the m-t-d is 433. A good sunny day would be a nice boost for that. A lovely twofer of sun-dried laundry and electricity production.
Evil Ones being evil. Genocidal Old Party. Gotta keep the stolen kids on the radar. Gotta keep working on ways to reunite the families. And gotta keep working on booting this evil lot out of power in November. If we can get Congress, we can put a stop to a lot of the evil. We won’t be able to stop it entirely and we won’t be able to even regain much (if any) ground, but we can do a lot of good work by taking Congress back. But we have to help the kids now. For anyone this kind of stress and pain is bad and feels like forever. For children? This kind of stress and pain scars them actually forever. We’ve got to stop it.
Need to deal with the laundry. If I have time I’ll grab the shuttle bus to a meeting on campus with my current state rep who’s running for state senate. Might take my laptop with me if I can find something to carry it in – there’s a random problem that needs “diagnostics” according to the young woman I spoke to this morning. Which beats what the guy I talked to the last time I called on that random problem said. (He said he couldn’t do anything to check a random problem.) Sigh. The so-called debate over “civility” is nothing of the sort. It is a debate over whether we are allowed to call out literal nazis who are implementing policies that go against everything our democracy stands for. On the same day that the Supreme Court decides that laws against racial bias in redistricting cannot be used to redress districts drawn with the intent to racially discriminate, it is difficult to find the words to describe how totally screwed up the current moment is. I was disappointed in Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi for deliberately misreading what Maxine Waters said – she did not call for a mob action, she said that people who enable racist policies should be protested and shunned. They should be! People who chose to work for Donald J. Trump in his white supremacist White House do not deserve respect. If I was an immigrant wait person at the Red Hen forced to be pleasant to Sarah HucksterBE Sanders, I would be angry and upset and grateful that my boss did not require me to.
Today there are primaries in South Carolina, New York, Utah, Colorado, Oklahoma, Maryland and Mississippi. After today, more than half the states will have selected their general election candidates. THAT is what we focus on – the best candidates to take on the Republicans and win back Congress and the statehouses. The Supreme Court has nullified the Voting Rights Act, essentially saying that the federal government has no right to insist that states run fair elections. Our way forward is to take back the states and change the laws there.

I’m furious about the targeting of Maxine Waters. Have been ranting on twitter about it. Fuck Civility. Pissed at Pelosi and Schumer – Maxine handled that crap with grace – refusing to take Chris Hayes’ bait and bite back at them on MSNBC last night – and focusing on the children.

Good morning, Moosekind! It’s a fair Tiu’s Day here, with a partly cloudy sky. The current temp. in Ashburn is 63 F., going up to 81 F. Today is our last low-humidity day.
Good for Chef Jose! I hope his words ring true. And a slap on the bohunkus for Chuck and Nancy—where do they get off? Charlie Pierce let loose with a rip-roaring denunciation of that op-ed in yesterday’s Washington Poop: people, it was a rant for the ages. Wish I had the link, but I don’t. Like most rational people, I applaud Maxine Waters and think she is absolutely right.
It’ll be interesting to see what happens in Maryland, especially, today. There’s a guy on the Democratic side, David Trone, who keeps trying to buy his way into national public office with his self-funded political campaigns rather than running for state-level office and working his way up. He should do that and use his millions of dollars to help the poor. Maryland is a peculiar state. Although determinedly Democratic, every once in a while it elects a Rethug governor, just to show who’s boss. Larry Hogan was slapped with a horrifying disease when only six months into the governorship (I sent him a get-well card because I felt so sorry for him), but after he recovered he has behaved pretty much the way you’d expect a Rethug governor to behave.
In a little while I’ll be getting dressed to join the Walking Club for its Tuesday morning walk. Gotta do something, my weight is out of control.
Hope I can stay awake long enough after dinner to watch the election returns. For the last couple of nights I’ve been falling asleep after dinner. (No, I’m not preggers—much too OLD!) Perhaps the Sleep Fairy is working overtime.

I hope he went after the WaPo editorial board that “conveniently” forgot about clinic bombers and abortion doctor killings as they waxed poetic about the “good old days of political civility”.
Maryland is a peculiar state. They are a Southern state at heart and for every step forward they seem to take steps back. It was just reported that they lost 80,000 voter registrations – 80,000!! How does that happen by accident?
I am not sure what to watch for in tonight’s primaries other than hoping that anyone that the Orange Orshole supports loses in the most embarrassingly possible way. Daniel Dale (@ddale8) , who liveblogs the Twittler’s rallies, found it odd that Trump has taken to more frequently referring to men as “handsome”. I wonder if he senses how ugly he himself is and is obsessed with other people’s looks. Those who watched him on TV last night said his hideous orange visage looked worse than usual. A guy in Detroit suggested that Trump should not run for reelection asking why he would want to be in a position he obviously did not enjoy?
The thing is that Trump can’t go back to that. His business empire is collapsing, he and his demon spawn are being sued and are likely to be indicted. He can never jet around the world without worrying about being arrested for war crimes, there is no “under the radar”. He has created a box for himself that has to be causing him increasingly more pain and which he can’t escape from. He may one day pardon himself – or be pardoned by whoever succeeds him to the presidency – but he has no life any longer. I just hope there is a check on his power before he realizes that and decides to kill us all off like a man who murders his children then offs himself to get even with an ex who has rejected him.

Y’know, I haven’t mentioned it but now that you have, Thing IS looking increasingly hideous! I can’t bear to look at that orange face with its white-ringed eyes. I’d compare him to an orang utang, but most of those animals have kindly expressions.
Thing has ruined trade and commerce. The stock market gets lower every day. Can’t believe where we’re going—time to start hoarding canned food, “bathroom tissue,” and toothpaste under the bed and firewood in the garage!
His attacks on Harley-Davidson are hilarious! Any company willing to put their reputation on the line and be seen as a Trump pet (like Harley did in the early days of his administration) deserves everything they are getting from him. Moving that production overseas to avoid having to put a $2,200 fee on the motorcycles they sell in the EU is a no-brainer. That Trump would prefer they go bankrupt or leave the market should set off alarm bells for any company that does business overseas. I hope the CEOs enjoy their personal tax cuts as they watch their companies’ future get burned on the altar of trumpism.

I am having a difficult time rooting for people who helped Bernie Sanders drag out the nomination contest in 2016 and Jealous was one of the berners on the DNC Platform Committee who gave cover to him. But whoever Maryland Democrats think will beat Hogan is fine with me.
